고등학교 중국어 학습자들의 학습동기 분석 및 동기유발 방안

Abstract

『論語』의 雍也篇에 ‘知之者 不如好之者, 好之者 不如樂之者.’라는 구절이 있다. 이 말은 ‘아는 것은 좋아하는 것만 못하고, 좋아하는 것은 즐기는 것만 못하다.’라는 뜻으로 모든 일에 가장 이상적인 경지는 진정으로 즐기고 적극적으로 하는 자세라는 것이다. 이와 같이 학습에서 진정으로 즐기는 자세는 ‘동기’의 개념으로 설명할 수 있는데, ‘동기’란 인간의 행동을 시작하게 하고 일단 시작된 행동을 지속하게 만드는 내적인 심리상태를 말한다. 즉, 성공적인 중국어 학습을 위해서는 학습동기가 중요한 요인인 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 인문계 고등학교 중국어 학습자 200명을 대상으로 그들의 중국어 학습에 대한 동기와 태도 등을 설문 조사하였고, 조사 결과를 바탕으로 학습자의 요구를 파악함으로써 학습자 중심 교육이 이루어 질 수 있는 교육환경을 위한 개선 방안을 제시하였다. 먼저 제 Ⅱ장에서는 외국어 학습에 있어서 동기의 중요성과 동기의 일반적인 개념을 선행 연구 결과를 통해 살펴보았다. 또, 중국어 학습동기 유발에 영향을 미치는 요인을 학습자, 교사, 교수, 교재로 나누어 각각의 요인들이 어떻게 하면 가장 효과적으로 동기를 유발시킬 수 있는지에 대해 살펴보았다. 제 Ⅲ장에서는 제 Ⅱ장에서 검토한 요인들을 기준으로 학습동기에 대한 설문 조사를 실시하였는데, 그 결과 고등학교 중국어 학습자는 중국어 과목에 필요성을 인식하고 흥미를 갖고 있었다. 그러나 현재의 교사, 교수, 교재 요인에 대해 개선이 필요하다고 응답하여, 이에 제 Ⅳ장에서는 개선이 필요한 부분들에 대한 개선 방안을 제시하였다. 제 Ⅳ장에서는 제 Ⅱ장에서 살펴보았던 학습동기 유발 요인을 기준으로, 제 Ⅲ장에서 제기된 문제점들에 대하여 교사, 교수, 교재 요인으로 나누어 구체적인 개선 방안을 제시하였다. 본 논문은 고등학교 중국어 학습자의 동기 유발을 위한 방안을 제시하였으나, 설문 조사 대상이 제한되어 있고 제시한 방안이 실제 현장에서 적용되지 못한 점에서 한계가 있다. 앞으로 동기 유발에 대한 연구가 지속적으로 이루어지길 기대한다.;In the Analects of Confucius, there is a phrase "To know is not as good as liking it and liking it is not as good as enjoying it." The meaning of this phrase is to say that to all things the optimum stage is to have the attitude of enjoying it. This way, the motive of enjoyment can be explained as the concept, here the motive is the man's internal psychology which starts the human action and once started to make it continue. Hence for successful study of Chinese language, the motivation for the study is the important key. Hence this study targeted a group of 200 students studying Chinese language in high school arts program researching through surveys of their motivations and their attitudes,and based on the research results analysing the needs of the students there by to suggest an education environment that is centered around the students. First, in chapter II, the prior studies in the normal concepts of motivation and the importance of the motivation regarding the foreign language studies were surveyed. And dividing the instigators of the motives of Chinese language study into the four of the student, teacher, professor, and the teaching material and studied how best each can cause the motivation. In chapter III, the causes examined in chapter II were based for surveys to be carried out on the motivations for the study, the results showed that the high school students understood the need of the subject of Chinese language and they were interested in it. However, they answered that the current teacher, professor, and the teaching materials require improvements, therefore the chapter IV put forth the improvement methods for these parts requiring improvements. In the chapter IV, based on the causes of the study motivations surveyed in chapter II, the concrete improvement methods were suggested based on the the sources of problems divided into the teacher, theprofessor, and theteaching materials, as raised in the chapter III. While this paper does suggest the methodology to cause the motivations in the Chinese language students, there are limitations of the target of the survey being limited, and the suggested methods not having been implemented in the actual field. Going forward, the studies will continue regarding the instigators of the motivations.
