敎育에 있어서 컴퓨터 適用에 關한 硏究

Abstract

지금까지의 大量敎育에서 나타난 學習缺陷들을 해결하고 敎育效果를 極大化시키기 위해서는 個人差를 고려한 個別化 敎授가 實施되어야 한다. 그러나 사실상 오늘날과 같이 學習者數가 팽창하고 敎育費가 上昇하는 狀況下에서, 旣存의 소수체제와 교수방법으로는 個別化 敎授를 제공한다는 것이 不可能하다. 따라서, 敎育에 컴퓨터를 適用함으로서 인간 敎師없이도 많은 학생에게 自動的으로 개별화 교수를 제공해 주는 CAI(Computer Assisted Instruction)가 필연적으로 등장하게 되있다. 本 硏究는 CAI시스템에 관한 文獻硏究로서, 최신의 연구자료와 文獻을 中心으로 CAI의 理論과 體制 및 戰略을 考察하고, 美國에서 活用되고 있는 CAI시스템의 敎育的 效果 및 그 實際를 硏究 考察하고자 한다. 本 論文의 硏究內容은 다음과 같다. 1 . CAI의 槪念 및 特性에 대해 알아 보고, CAI의 理論的 背景을 考察하였다. 그리고 CAI에 관한 여러가지 실험결과들을 再調査해 보고, CAI를 適用하였을 경우 予想되는 敎育的 效果 및 問題點들을 考察하였다. 2. CAI시스템을 개발, 活用하는 데 있어서의 開發戰略을 알아보기 위해, 우선 CAI시스템의 구성요소를 하아드웨어, 소프트웨어, 코스웨어(교수자료)와 要員등 네 부분으로 나누어 살펴 보았다. 그중에서 특히 중점적으르 코스웨어(교수자료)에 대해 조사, 연구 하였다. 또한, CAI시스템의 여러가지 敎授戰略에 관하여 考察하였으며, CAI시스템의 傳達體系인 time-sharing 시스템과 stand-alone시스템을 비교, 分析하였다. 3. 현재 미국에서 개발된 CAI시스템 가운데서 이미 評價段階를 거쳐 普及段階에 들어간 代表的 시스템인 PLATO(Programmed Logic for Automatic Teaching Operations) 시스템과 TICCIT(Time-shared Interactive Computer-Controlled Information Television) 시스템을 중심으로 CAI 시스템의 敎育에의 活用에 관해 考察하였다. CAI는 개별화 교수를 통해 學習時間을 短縮시켜주고, 學生 個個人의 敎育的 必要性 적합한 敎授 선택하도록 해주며, 학생들로 하여금 보다 積極的으로 參與토록 도와줌으로써 다른 어떤 교수방법보다도 가장 效果的이고 效率的인 교수를 제공해줄 수 있다. 앞으로의 사회 全分野에 있어서의 추세로 미루어, CAI의 미래는 매우 낙관적이라고 학 수 있다. 우리나라에서의 CAI분야는 지금까지 미개척분야였으나, 앞으로 우리도 1980년도에 한국과학기술연구소(KIST)에서의 PLATO시스템 도입을 계기로 定規 敎科課程에의 컴퓨터 활용에 대해 계속적인 연구가 진행될 것이다. 우리나라의 敎育 實情에 맞게 CAI를 효과적으로 사용하기 위하여는 단지 선진국에서 개발된 CAI시스템을 그대로 받아들일 것이 아니라, CAI에 관해 우선적으로 充分히 연구한 후 도입된 CAI 시스템을 修正하거나, 새로운 CAI 시스템을 개발 활용해야 할 것이다.;In order to solve the instructional defects appeared in the mass education till now and maximize the educational effects, individualized instruction should be carried out. But it is really impossible to provide individualized instruction with the existing instructional system and instructional method under the conditions, which is facing the learners' exploision and the educational expenses' ascent as like today. Therefore, it is necessary to be appeared Computer-Assisted Instruction(CAI) for providing individualized instruction automatically for lots of learners without human-teacher by the applications of computer in education. As a survey of the literature concerning CAI system, this study reviewed the theory, the organization and the strategy of CAI, especially focused on the latest researches and books, and also discussed the educational effects and practices of the CAI system presently utilizing in the United States. The objectives of the thesis are as follows; 1. To define the concept and the characteristics of CAI, at the same time, to consider the theoritical background of CAI. And to review the results of various experiments of CAI system, and to discuss the educational effects and problems relating to the application of CAI in the classroom. 2. In order to clarify the developmental strategy of CAI system, this study four CAI system components was classified as follows; hardware, software, courseware(instructional materials), and personnel. Especially the courseware among the CAI system components was researched and the various instructional strategy of CAI system was reviewed. Also, the time-sharing : system was compared with the stand-alone system and analyzed in this study. 3. To review of several CAI system in education. They were;PLATO(Programmed Logic for Automatic Teaching Operations) system and TICCIT(Time-shared Interactive Computer-Controlled Infomation Television) system which were developed and applied in the United States, and others. CAI permits the time savings inherent in individualized instruction, the higher efficiency inherent in instruction selected to meet the needs of an individual, and the higher effectiveness inherent in learning under conditions of the active student participation. According to the current technological, educational psychological, and social trends, it is suggested that the future of CAI is optimistic. In Korea, CAI is a new field in our education. KIST has b been introducing the PLATO system this year. However, it is suggested that we have to research thoroughly about CAI system of other nations in order to apply this system to our own educational circumstances properly.
