MIS 개발과정에서의 MIS 부서와 사용자 부서간의 의사소통에 관한 연구

Abstract

많은 기업들이 MIS 도입에 따른 기술적 측면만을 강조하여 MIS의 실패를 경험하게 되었고 MIS의 성공적 실행은 경영관리 측면에 있음을 알게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 MIS의 도입과 개발에 따른 조직 구성원간의 조직행태적 문제로서 MIS 개발과정에서의 MIS 부서와 사용자 부서간의 의사소통에 대해 다루었다. 본 연구의 목적은 MIS 부서와 사용자 부서간의 의사소통 문제를 분석함으로써 MIS 개발과정에서의 부서간의 효율적인 의사소통을 증진시키고, 나아가 MIS의 성과를 향상시키고자 하는 것이다. 본 연구를 위한 조사방법으로는 이론적 연구를 위하여 문헌 연구를 하는 한편 실증적 연구를 위하여 설문지 조사를 실시하였다. 문헌 연구에서는 부서의 구조적 특성이 의사소통에 미치는 영향을 알기 위해 조직 구조에 관한 문헌을 검토하였고, 의사소통의 장애를 제거하고 부서간의 효율적인 의사소통을 위해 갈등 관리 효과를 가지는 변수에 관한 문헌을 살펴 보았다. 문헌 연구를 토대로 가설을 설정하였으며 가설 검증에는 Pearson 상관 분석이 사용되었다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부서의 구조적 특성은 MIS 부서와 사용자 부서간의 의사소통에 영향을 미치지 않았다. 둘째, 갈등과 의사소통은 매우 밀접한 관계가 있음이 증명되었다. 즉 갈등 수준이 낮을수록 MIS 부서와 사용자 부서간의 의사소통이 잘 이루어지고 있었다. 세째, 갈등 관리 효과를 가지는 변수 중 사용자 참여, 사용자 교육, 역할 정의가 의사소통과 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 반면 최고 경영층의 지원과 개발과정의 공식화는 부서간에 서로 상반된 결과를 보이고 있어, MIS 부서와 사용자 부서간에는 인식의 차이가 있음이 확인되었다. 네째, MIS 부서와 사용자 부서간의 의사소통과 MIS 성과간의 상관관계 분석을 통해 의사소통이 MIS의 성과에 영향을 미친다는 것이 증명되었다. 이는 MIS 개발과정에서의 부서간의 의사소통이 MIS성공에 중요한 영향 요인을 입증하는 것이다.;Many companies experienced failure of MIS due to excessive emphasis on the technical aspect of MIS, and they recognized the fact that the successful implementaion of MIS was dependent upon the management. In this study, the communication between MIS department and user department in MIS development process has been discussed, as organizational and behavioral problem among organization members due to the introduction and development of MIS. The purpose of this study is to improve interdepartmental communication and MIS performance by analysing the communication problem between MIS department and user department. For this purpose, both of literature review and empirical study were accomplished. In literature review, previous researches on MIS and organizational structure were examined in order to obtain the influences of department structure characteristics on communication, and conflict management variables were examined for the removal of obstacles in communication and the enhancement of efficient communication among departments. The study hypothesis were developed based on literature review and the Pearson's correlation analysis was used for hypothesis testing. The results were as follow ; First, department structure characteristics did not influence on the communication between MIS department and user department. Second, it was proved that conflict and communication were very closely related. The lower conflict levels, the better communication between MIS department and user department. Third, among conflict management variables, it was showed that user participation, user education and role definition were positively related with the communication. While the departments showed the opposite results each other on top management support and formalization of system development process, so it was proved that there was difference of perception between two departments. Fourth, communication was identified as a influence factor on MIS success through the correlation analysis on communication between MIS department and user department.
