The Study of Enterprise Portal's Adoption and Development : Focus on the Stage Theory

Abstract

기술 발전과 정보 확산에 따라 많은 기업들이 디지털 시대의 정보 과다 및 혼돈으로 인해 정보관리의 필요성이 높아지고 있다. 이에 대한 대안 중 하나로 엔터프라이즈 포털이 등장했다고 할 수 있다. 엔터프라이즈 포털은 단순히 기존 정보시스템들의 프레임만 바꾼 것이 아니라, 조직의 변화 및 신기술의 도입 등과 관련한 새롭고 차별화된 개념들이 더해진 것이다. 이와 같은 개념을 염두에 두고 본 연구는 조직에서의 엔터프라이즈 포털의 도입 및 발전 패턴에 대한 조망을 목적으로 진행되었다. 이 연구는 기존 유사 분야 연구에 기초하여 엔터프라이즈 포털의 단계와 벤치마크 변수, 그리고 각 단계별 벤치마크들을 개발했으며, 델파이 기법을 사용해 개발한 것을 평가도 해 보았다. 본 연구는 앞에서도 말했듯이 델파이 법을 연구에 도입, 엔터프라이즈 포털의 도입 및 발전 4단계와 5개의 벤치마크 영역, 그리고 14개의 벤치마크 변수들을 개발해 내었다. 그 다음 단계로 실제 측정항목들을 개발해 연구를 진행시켰다. 그 과정에서 다른 측정항목들이 제안되어 명시되기도 하였다. 본 연구는 엔터프라이즈 포털에 관한 학계 연구가 부족한 상활에서 관련 개념들을 정리해 본 점, 그리고 엔터프라이즈 포털의 발전단계 모형을 제시해 실제 포털 제품에 적용시켜 현 구축 단계와 상황 등을 평가해 볼 수 있다는 점, 특히 앞으로의 조직 내·외부 엔터프라이즈 포털의 도입 및 발전 추진을 전망해 볼 수 있게 한 점 등에 의의가 있다. 이와 관련하여 본 연구가 이미 엔터프라이즈 포털을 도입했거나 장차 추진할 조직 및 기업에 도움이 될 것으로 기대해 본다. 그러나 본 연구는 엔터프라이즈 포털의 실제 사용업체 수가 매우 제한적임을 감안, 실제 활용현황 자체에 대한 검증연구를 실시한 것이 아니므로, 앞으로 본 연구와 사레 연구를 통합하는 노력이 필요하다. 또한, 본 연구의 진행 과정에서 패널로 참가하신 분들간의 의견차가 매우 커서 조율이 곤란한 부분이 않았다는 점도 지적될 수 있겠다. 연구 초기단계에서부터 예상하지 못한 것은 아니었지만, 효과적으로 조정하지 못한 것은 한계였다. 따라서 앞으로 추가 연구를 실시할 경우, 패널 간의 의견차를 극복하기 위한 보다 많은 노력이 필요하겠다. 마지막 한계점으로, 본 연구와 유사한 선행연구가 드물어 연구 진행상의 범위 및 수준 조절이 어려웠다 역시 추가 연구를 실시 할 경우 범위 조절에 대한 보다 많은 노력이 필요하겠다.;Due to technology advances and the wide dissemination of information many institutions suffer from information overload and need to apply information management to deal with this information chaos in the digital world. As one alternative plan, Enterprise Portal appeared. Enterprise Portal is not simply the re-packing of earlier IS frameworks, but does have some genuinely new insights, which are relevant to today's business concerns of organizational change and deployment of new technology. The purpose of this study is to predict the patterns of development of Enterprise Portal in organization. This study tried to identify Enterprise Portal's developmental stages, benchmark variables and benchmarks based on prior studies and today's materials. Deductive research is used for development of items and Delphi method for the validation of the items. In the research and Delphi method, 4 Enterprise Portal's stages, 5 benchmark dimensions, 14 benchmark variables are defined. And then measurement items and each benchmarks are developed. And other matters were proposed and clarified. This study is meaningful in that it has arranged the notion of Enterprise Portal on which academic researches have not made much. yet. And it provides the Enterprise Portal's Stage Model, so we can use this model to evaluate the present stage and the situation. Last but not the least, we can forecast the Enterprise Portal's adoption and development infernal and external organization and largely e-Corporation. So this study is expected to give some help to organizations or enterprises who have already introduced or will introduce Enterprise Portal in the future, by suggesting a basic proposal on evaluation of the Portal. But this study does not consider Enterprise Portal practical use because of real case limit. So, it is necessary for the researcher to integrate this study and case studies. And there are largely different views between panelists. It was a matter of concern from the beginning, but this study was not tuned effectively. So in the future research, researcher should consider the reducing way of this gap. Last, there is few prior research, so the scope of research is vast. Future research had better tune the scope.
