어린이 창의력 개발을 위한 디자인 교육 콘텐츠 개발 및 활용방안에 관한 연구

Abstract

국내에서 어린이 디자인 교육에 대한 연구가 시작된 것은 1997년 권은숙 교수가 ‘초·중·고 디자인 교육의 필요성과 방향’에 대한 글을 발표하면서 부터로 보여 진다. 이후 많은 연구자들에 의해 어린이 디자인 교육의 필요성 및 가능성에 대해 논문이 발표되었으며 최근에는 디자인 프로세스를 적용한 교육과정 설계를 주제로 한 연구들도 다수 발표되고 있다. 그러나 그 내용을 살펴보면 일반교육으로서의 디자인 교육을 강조하면서도 적용 범위에 있어서는 미술교과 내 디자인 교육으로 한정되어 있는 경우가 대부분이다. 또한 이론을 중심으로 한 개념 글 위주의 내용이 대부분이어서 정규 또는 비정규 교육기관에서 어린이를 대상으로 디자인 교육을 실시하고자할 때 교육 내용 및 방법에 대한 안내를 받기에는 연구가 상당부분 부족한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 그동안의 연구로 어린이 디자인 교육의 필요성에 대한 인식은 어느 정도 확산되었다고 보고, 실제 교육 현장에서 어린이를 대상으로 디자인 교육을 실시할 때 필요한 교육 콘텐츠 및 교육 과정을 어떻게 설계하는 것이 바람직한지 그 방법적 대안을 찾아보고자한다. 특히 논문의 주제인 어린이 디자인 교육 콘텐츠 개발의 목적을 ‘창의력 개발’에 두어 미래의 다양한 분야로 진출할 어린이들이 어떤 분야에서든지 창의력을 갖춘 인재로 성장하는데 필요한 기초 능력인 ‘창의적으로 문제를 해결’하는 능력을 배우고 익힐 수 있는 교육 내용 및 교육 과정을 설계하는데 중점을 두었다. 본 논문을 계기로 어린이 창의력 개발을 위한 디자인 교육 콘텐츠를 만들고 보급하기 위한 다양한 논의들이 활성화되기를 기대해 본다.;Since the professor Kwon, Eun-Suk published the paper about a necessity and direction of the elementary, middle and high school’s design in 1997, the study on the children design education has started in Korea. After that, many researchers published the papers about the necessity and probability of children design education, and researches on the curriculum design applying the design process have been recently published. However, most of studies are limited to the design education in the art subject, as its applicable range while emphasizing the design education as the general education. Also, there is the lack of studies and researches to receive guidance on the education contents and method when the regular or non-regular education institution executes the design education for children focused on the theory. In this study, it is considered that the recognition on the necessity of children design education as a preceding study has been somewhat expanded. Accordingly, this study is intended to search a methodological alternative to examine how the necessary education contents and curriculum should be designed when the design education is executed for children in the actual education field. In particular, the purpose of children design education contents development which is the subject of the paper is focused on the educational contents and curriculum design which enables children who will advance in the future’s various fields to learn the ability to solve the problem creatively, being the basic ability required for growing to the talent man with creativity in any fields. Through this study, various discussions are expected to be activated for making practical contents to develop children’s creativity based on the design.
