피혁재를 이용한 데스크 서어비스용품의 개발에 관한 연구

Abstract

오늘날 산업화사회에서 과학과 기술이 끊임없이 개발되고 소개되어 있는데 비하여 모든 제품은 물적기능의 욕구를 충족시키는데만 주력을 두고 있는 경우를 들 수 있다. 즉 실제 사용되고 있는 대부분의 데스크 서어비스용품들에서 엿볼 수 있는바 이는 기능적 측면에 의해 형태가 결정되는 상황이다. 그러나 현대 사회속에서 디자인은 단순히 기능적 측면만의 충족으로는 충분치 못하며 감성적 조형의 측면도 매우 중요하다. 이러한 요소는 크기, 형태 등만이 아닌 재료의 특성도 중요한 요인이 된다. 따라서 본 연구는 소득의 증가와 자연재에 대한 재인식등 시대성을 반영하는 하이터치의 고급물품인 피혁재를 선택하였으며 조형적인 면에 있어서는 기하학적 형태로써 원과 사각의 간결한 선의 개념에서 출발하여 데스크 서어비스용품의 시작품을 디자인 하였다. 시작품 A는 직사각형에 시각적으로 가장 안정된 16도의 경사를 주어, 품목별 길이를 조절하였다. 각 기능을 단위별로 제작하여 한 세트(set)로 하였다. 시작품 B는 원형과 반원형의 기둥꼴을 조화시켜서 각 기능을 5개의 단위별로 하여 한 세트(Set)로 제작하였다. 데스크 패드의 모퉁이는 각각 직선과 곡선으로 소품에 맞추어 전체의 선을 통일하였다. 이러한 시작품에 있어서 그 특성을 기능에 따른 시스템화와 더불어 천연재료가 갖는 촉각·시각적 면에 중점을 두었다. 또한경제적 측면에서도 대량생산시에 플라스틱에 인조피혁을 사용하는 경우보다 천연재료를 사용할 경우에는 임가공비가 상품가에 미치는 영향이 적으므로 부가가치를 더 올려주며 제품자체의 품위와 가치도 높여줄 것이다. 본 연구결과로 피혁재의 적용영역에 있어서 보다 폭넓은 가능성을 발견할 수 있었으며 최첨단의 자동화 사무기기들로 이루어진 사무공간을 자연재를 이용한 데스크 서어비스용품으로써 메마른 환경이 더 정서적이며 사무의 능률화를 기할 수 있을 것으로 본다.;As science and technology become more widely introduced into everyday life, products tend to be more or less oriented solely to the fulfillment of fuctional requirements. Service products, including desk service wares, must satisfy the aesthetic and psychological aspect of the users as well. The common materials utilized in desk service wares include plastic, metals, stone, glass, and ceramic. These materials, give a feeling of coarseness and coldness to users. These vital aspects can be provided not only by formative manipulation such as changing size and form, but they can also be provided by using different materials. The purpose of this study is to introduce leather as a feasible material for desk service wares. Leather has the special characteristic of a rich softness which enhances a user's sensitivity towards the design of desk service products. This study presents two pilot sets of leather desk service wares. The pilot products have been designed to combine the many desktop utensils into a unified and systematic set. A field- survey was carried out to analyze the form, material, and design of currently used desk service wares. A set of pilot leather desk service wares was designed based upon the aforementioned survey. Pilot Product A This product has the basic form of sixteen degree elevated wedge, the most stable form possible. The product functions as a pen holder, a memo rack, a dispenser for paper clips and erasers, a business card rack, a pen rack, and a clock. It can be separated into four smaller units. The frame is red rosewood. Brown lizard leather and brass are used for decorative materials. The desk pad is made of cowhide, whose corners have been cut away in order to prevent the presence of sharp edges. Pilot Product B This product's form is a combination of circles and semi-circles. It functions as a pen holder, a memo rack, a business card rack, a vermillion inkpad, and a dispenser for paper clips and erasers. Rosewood, lizard leather, and brass are again used in this product. In addition, the desk pad's corners have been rounded to match the product's basic form. Rosewood, lizard leather, brass, and cowhide were used to give a unique softness and texture to the products. Contrary with other common desk service wares fabricated of plastic and artificial leather or vinyl, the pilot products in this study are also more attractive in terms of cost management, a very important factor due to the rising cost of manufacturig these days. This study reveals that materials can make a significant difference in terms of elegance and value. As a final note, uniform and user -friendly desk service wares not only improve the working environment, but can increase working efficiency as well.
