민간항공 기내식기 디자인에 관한 연구

Abstract

Through the competition to attract passengers among the air companies in the Western developed countries was dependent limitedly to the performance of the airplain as such even until 1960's from the early 1974's the quality and quantity of every service hare become the decisive key to the attraction of passengers andi now, it is most obvious that this trend of service competition will be more accelated according to the general development into high industrial society. Among all the required services of air transporttion, the canbin service may be said a crucial standard by which all the services of an air company can be evaluated, from the aspect that it is a place where passengers encounter to the company directly and finally. On the other hand, in our country, the foundation of Air Korea by the Hanjin Co. Ltd. in 1961 paved the way for the development of our air services, and, Korean Air has made rapid progress into a tenth biggist air company in the world in the aspect transport capacity. But, when we consider the cabin servies of it, the company has not developed competively but only imitated those of the Western countries, chiefly due to its consciousness of an exclusive right caused by the government's promotional and encouragement policy which gave the sole company many preferential treatments. That is, the company has not designed the cabin suppoies and other wupplemental articles at its own control, but, merely imported what used by foreign air companies to use them as they were---this is judged as will emerge an unneglectable factor for the possible future weakening in its international competitive power. From this viewpoint, the study has designed the cabin table supplies and other suppoementary articles anthropometrically and functionally in order to contribute to the increasement of the srevice affects and the establishment of an original air-company image. To sum up the procedure for it : First, the role of the cabin services was clearly defined through considerations in the peculiarity of the civil air transportation, marketing and future prospect. Second, the completing requirements based on the results from fact-findings in Korean Air Lines, a design approaching was implemented to contuct a research and analysis of the present conditions of the cabin meals. Third, as an approach to design, compositional elements, value numbers, behaviors and environments were analyzed to present an alternative proposal. The outcomes include metamonphoses of the meal tray and meal cart for the convinence in receipt, a structual change of the meal tray for the service efficiency and safe mealing, and a pursuit for newer forms that made use of curved faces.;1960년대 까지만 해도 구미 선진국 항공사간의 승객유치 경쟁은 항공기 자체의 성능에 국한되어 좌우되어 왔으나 1970년대 초 이후부터는 제반 서비스의 질과 양이 승객유치의 결정적인 관건이 되어 왔다. 고도 산업사회로 발전함에 따라 이와같은 서비스 경쟁추세는 더욱 가속화될 것이 확실하다. 항공운송에 필요한 제반 서비스중 기내 서비스는 승객들이 직접적이고 최종적으로 항공사와 접하는 장소가 기내라는 점에서 기내 서비스는 항공사의 전체 서비스를 평가하는 기준이 된다고 할 수 있다. 한편, 우리나라에서는 1961년 한진상사의 Air Korea 설립을 계기로 민간항공이 시작되었고 이것이 발전하여 현재의 대한 항공은 물량수송면에서 세계 10대 항공사로 비약적인 성장을 하였다. 그러나 그간의 국내유일의 항공사란 특혜에 따른 국가의 보호육성정책으로 인한 독점 의식으로 인하여 기내 서비스는 경쟁적으로 발전하지 못하고 구미 선진국의 그것을 모방하여 왔다고 본다. 즉, 기내용품및 보조용품을 자체적으로 디자인 하지 않고 단순히 외국항공사가 사용하는 것을 수입하여 그대로 사용하여 왔으며 이는 승객유치의 국제 경쟁력 약화에 한 요인으로 대두될 것으로 판단된다. 이와같은 관점에서 본 연구는 기내식용품과 보조용품을 인간공학적 및 기능적으로 디자인 함으로써 서비스효과 증대 및 독자적인 항공사의 이미지를 확립하는데 있다. 이를 위한 진행과정을 요약하면, 첫째, 민간항공운송의 특성 및 마아케팅을 통해 기내 서비스의 역할을 명확히 하려는데 있다. 둘째, 기내식 현황조사분석을 위해 항공사를 설정하여 문제점을 도출한 결과로 요구사항을 작성하여 디자인 접근방법을 도입하기로 하였다. 세째, 디자인 접근방법으로 구성요소와 치수, 행위, 환경분석을 통해 대안을 제시하였다. 이의 결과는 밀 트레이(Meal Tray)와 밀 카트(Meal Cart)의 형태 변형을 통한 수납의 편리성 재고와 서비스의 효율성및 식사의 안정성을 고려한 밀 트레이(Meal Tray)의 구조변경, 곡면을 이용한 새로운 형태를 추구하기로 한다.
