중등교육 내 교과 외 활동에서의 음악 활용 연구 동향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 중등교육 내 교과 외 활동에서 음악을 활용한 연구를 고찰하여 중등교육 현장에서의 음악 활용 시 치료적인 전문성을 확보하기 위한 기초자료를 제시하는 것이다. 분석 기준에 따라 총 43편의 연구를 선정하여 연구 동향 개요를 파악한 후 프로그램 효과 분석 및 비교 분석을 목적으로 한 연구 15편의 대상자 특성 및 운영체제, 음악 활동 목표 및 방법을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 교육과정에서 교과 외 활동의 중요성이 제기되며 관련 연구도 증가했으며, 교과 외 활동 유형이 구체적으로 명시되고 취지에 맞는 프로그램 개발을 위한 연구 비중이 높게 나타났다. 15편의 연구에 대한 음악 활용 분석 결과 중 대상자 특성으로는 중학생을 대상으로 한 연구 비중이 높았으며 희망 학생을 대상으로 그룹을 형성하여 활동하는 경우가 많았다. 진행자의 경우 치료사와 교사, 강사의 비중이 비슷했으나 학문적 배경 분석 결과에서는 음악교육의 비중이 가장 높고 음악치료의 비중이 가장 낮았다. 활동 목표 분석 결과에서는 정서 영역 중 자기 관련 심리와 사회 영역 중 관계를 목표로 한 활동 비중이 높았으며, 정서 영역에서는 연주 및 감상을 중심으로 다양한 활동이 이루어졌고 전반적으로는 합주 활동의 비중이 높게 나타났다. 이는 중등교육 내 교과 외 활동에서의 음악 활용이 정서를 조절하고 타인과의 협력을 경험하며 정서 및 사회적으로 성장하기 위해 활용되고 있어 치료적인 접근으로서의 다양한 음악 활용이 필요한 상황이라는 것을 보여준다. 교육과정이 개정될수록 중등교육에서 음악의 치료적인 활용에 관한 관심과 필요성이 증가하고 있는 만큼 치료적 근거가 바탕이 된 음악 활용 연구가 진행될 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 중등교육 내 교과 외 활동에서의 음악 활용 연구를 분석하여 중등교육 현장에서 치료적인 음악 활용의 필요성을 제기하고 가능성을 높인 연구라는 점에 의의가 있다.;The purpose of the study is to provide foundational data for enhancing therapeutic expertise in the integration of music within secondary education. This is achieved through a comprehensive review of 43 selected studies based on specific analysis criteria, focusing on the use of music in extra-curricular activities within secondary education. The research trends were examined, and the characteristics, operating systems, music activity goals, and methodologies of 15 studies, geared towards program effect analysis and comparative analysis, were thoroughly investigated. The analysis highlighted the growing importance of extra-curricular activities in the curriculum, leading to an increase in related studies. Notably, a significant proportion of research focused on developing programs tailored to specific purposes. Among the findings from the analysis of 15 studies on music utilization, there was a predominant emphasis on middle school students, with activities often conducted in groups of approximately 15 students. The roles of therapists, teachers, and instructors were similar, but a disparity was observed in their academic backgrounds, with music education having the highest representation and music therapy the lowest. Examining activity goals revealed a high proportion of initiatives targeting self-related psychology and social areas. In the emotional domain, diverse activities centered around performance and appreciation, with a notable prevalence of ensemble activities. These outcomes underscored the multifaceted role of music in extra-curricular activities within secondary education, contributing to emotional control, fostering cooperation, and promoting emotional and social growth. As the curriculum undergoes revisions and interest in the therapeutic use of music in secondary education continues to rise, there is a pressing need for research grounded in therapeutic principles. This study holds significance as it not only identifies this need but also expands the potential for the therapeutic use of music in the secondary education domain by comprehensively analyzing existing studies on music utilization in extra-curricular activities.
