Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the difference of ground reaction force according to the type of shoes and whether or not the inner foot arch support is worn when the drop of Taekwondo pilot is landed. The subjects of this study were 15 Taekwondo pilots who have more than 5 years of experience in Taekwondo or who have been in Taekwondo demonstration team for more than 3 years. They all had normal feet using right foot. The independent variables are the type of shoes and the wearing of the inner foot arch support when dropping, and the types of shoes are bare feet, toe shoes(Vibram Five Fingers, Italy) and Taekwondo shoes(Adidas, Korea). Dependent variables include vertical ground reaction force in front foot landing section(passive peak maximum value, number of passive peak, passive increase rate, passive reduction rate, passive impulse), vertical ground reaction force in rear foot landing section(active peak maximum value, number of active peak, active increase rate, active reduction rate, active impulse), vertical ground reaction force in knee flexion section(active peak maximum value, number of active peak, active impulse), left and right ground reaction force(left and right maximum vertex - medial), right and left minimum vertex - lateral, difference between maximum and minimum value in left and right), front and rear ground reaction force(forward and backward maximum vertex - forward, forward and backward minimum vertex - backward, difference between maximum and minimum value in forward and backward). In order to analyze the ground reaction force during drop landing, the subjects were allowed to land both feet at the same time after drop jumping on a fixed jumping stand of 60cm height and at this time only the right foot was landed in the ground reaction machine and only the right foot was used for analysis. The data were processed using IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0 for Windows and the nonparametric repeated measurement Friedman test was used. The Wilcoxon signed rank test was conducted as a post-hoc test. The significance level was set at p<.05. The results of this study are as follows. First, when wearing the inner foot arch support in bare feet and Taekwondo shoes and when wearing toe shoes in the forefoot landing section, the passive force significantly decreased. Second, when wearing the inner foot arch support in Taekwondo shoes in the hind foot landing section and when wearing toe shoes, the active power was significantly reduced. Third, when wearing inner foot arch support in bare feet and Taekwondo shoes and wearing toe shoes, the impact of left and right sides significantly decreased. Fourth, when wearing inner foot arch support in Taekwondo shoes and wearing toe shoes, the impact before and after was significantly reduced. Overall, while drop landing, the passive and active power of vertical, right and left, and front and rear were reduced when the toe shoes and the inner foot arch were worn than the case without them. The present invention induces the use of the toe spreading muscle as wearing toe shoes, and supports the inner arch using the inner arch support to enable the use of the elasticity of the arch to reduce passive and active force to allow the foot to land smoothly. Therefore, wearing Taekwondo shoes with the inner foot arch support or using of toe shoes is recommended. These results will contribute to the development of Taekwondo shoes optimized for the demonstration events by preventing and reducing injuries by identifying functional elements to be equipped as Taekwondo shoes.
