연주 경험의 사회‧심리적 기능에 관한 오케스트라 연주자의 인식 조사

Abstract

본 연구는 연주 경험의 사회･심리적 기능에 관해 오케스트라 연주자가 어떻게 인식하고 있는가를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 전문오케스트라 연주자 69명과 아마추어오케스트라 연주자 74명 등 총 143명의 오케스트라 연주자를 대상으로 설문을 실시하였고, 연주 경험의 사회･심리적 기능에 관한 문항을 개인적 측면, 관계적 측면, 사회･공동체적 측면으로 구성하여 조사한 후, 두 집단의 점수를 각각 분석하여 비교하였다. 연주 경험의 사회･심리적 기능에 관한 인식 수준을 분석한 결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 전문 집단은 아마추어 집단보다 전반적으로 기능을 다소 낮게 인식하는 경향을 보였으며, 특히 개인적 측면의 기능에 대해 유의미하게 낮은 인식 수준(p=.000)을 보였다. 둘째, 전문 집단은 개인 변인 중 연령이 높아질수록 전반적인 사회･심리적 기능을 높게 인식하는 것(p=.014)으로 나타났으며, 아마추어 집단은 개인 변인에 따른 차이를 보이지 않았다. 셋째, 악기 연주 경력 관련 변인 중 전문 집단은 활동 기간이 길어질수록 연주 경험의 사회･심리적 기능을 높게 인식하고(p=.026) 있었고, 아마추어 집단에서는 유의미한 결과는 나타나지 않았다. 넷째, 두 집단 모두 악기 교육과 인식 수준의 연관성은 없었다. 다섯째, 두 집단 모두 동일하게 오케스트라 활동 만족도와 인식 수준의 높은 연관성(p=.000)을 보였다. 이 같은 결과를 통해 오케스트라 연주 등의 연주 경험과 음악 활동은 음악적 전문성과 관계없이 연주자가 음악의 사회･심리적 기능과 혜택을 충분히 인식할 수 있도록 하며, 다양한 악기 활동을 통한 치료적인 경험 확장의 가능성을 확인하였다.;The purpose of the study is to examine the self-perceived social-psychological benefit of orchestra experience for orchestra musician in Korea. A total of 143 orchestra musicians participated in this study: professional orchestra musicians(n=69) and amateur orchestra musicians(n=74). Each participant completed the questionnaire on perception of the social-psychological benefits of orchestra experience. A 24-question survey was divided into three categories; intrapersonal, interpersonal, and communal. The results show that most of the respondents perceived high level of benefit of music, even though there were significant differences between the professional and the amateur groups. Generally, the professional musicians perceived less benefit than the amateur musicians in average, and the professionals showed significantly less scores in the intrapersonal category(p=.000). The professional group also showed significant difference in age(p=.014) and career years(p=.026), while the amateur group showed no relations with those variables. Both groups showed no relations with education experience. The findings imply that the orchestra experience facilitates its social-psychological function and benefit regardless of musical professionalism, which eventually enables the expansion of the therapeutic application of instrument playing and musical experience.
