중학교 과학교과와 수학교과의 연관성 분석 및 인식 조사

Abstract

효과적인 과학 학습을 위해서는 필요한 수학내용의 선수학습을 통하여, 과학교과에 수학을 적절히 연관지어 사용하는 것이 필요하다. 그러나 과학과 교육과정 상당 부분에는 두 교과간의 진도 순서가 합리적이지 않고 어긋나있는 경우가 있고, 과학 학습에 필요한 수학내용이 선수 학습되지 않음으로 인해 생기는 어려움이 있다. 따라서 과학학습 효과를 증진시키기 위한 과학과 수학의 연관성 연구가 필요하다. 이 연구에서는 제 7차 교육과정의 과학교과와 밀접한 관계가 있는 수학내용을 조사하고 과학과 수학의 진도 시기가 순차적으로 맞는지를 분석하였다. 그리고 현직 중학교 과학교사들과 중학생들이 과학교과에서 수학이 가지는 연관성에 대한 인식을 조사해 수학내용이 관련된 과학교과를 학습함에 있어 효율성을 최대한 극대화시킬 수 있는 방안을 알아보고자 한다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 1. 과학교과와 수학교과는 내용면에서 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있으나, 몇몇 부분에서 과학학습에 필요한 수학내용이 선수학습되지 않는다. 제 7차 과학과 교육과정에서 순차적 학습순서가 어긋나는 부분은 7학년에서 가장 많고, 학년이 올라감에 따라 줄어든다. 2. 대다수의 과학교사들은 과학교과와 수학교과의 연관성을 인식하고 있으며, 이로 인한 어려움 해소를 위해 필요한 내용의 수학교과 진도가 과학교과 진도에 선행되는 것을 가장 선호한다. 3. 대다수의 중학생들은 과학교과와 수학교과의 연관성을 인식하고 있으며, 이로 인한 어려움 해소를 위해 단원별 부록형식의 간단한 참고자료를 가장 선호한다.

;Science and mathematics are interrelated deeply with each other. To teach science effectively, mathematical contents needed in science education should be taught in mathematics lessons ahead of science lessons. However, contents and the order of science and mathematics lessons are not reasonable in terms of 7th curriculum. Therefore, there are still some difficulties in both teaching and learning science in which contains mathematical contents. In this study, it's investigated that mathematical contents interrelated in science and inspected whether they can be ahead of science lessons. In addition, science teachers' and students' relationship toward them is investigated for the effective science teaching and learning. Conclusion in this study are as follows. 1. Although science and mathematics are interrelated deeply with each other, in many parts there are some difficulties caused by the lack of studying mathematical contents ahead of science lessons. Middle school students in the higher grade experience less difficulties. 2. Most of science teachers are agree upon the relationship between science and mathematics. And they respond that they have experienced hard times in science lessons because of the lack of the preceding mathematical concepts. for this reason, most of the science teacher insist that the mathematical contents needed in science should be learned ahead of science lessons. 3. Most of students are agree upon the relationship between science and mathematics. To get rid of some difficulties caused by this, most of the students suggest referring materials about interrelated mathematics in science textbook.
