학생의 흥미변화요인으로 분석한 미술교육의 문제

Abstract

미술 교육의 이념은 미술을 통한 인간형성에 있다. 따라서 인간형성이 실현되지 못하는 미술 교육은 그 의의를 벗어난 것이며, 우리 미술 교육의 현실이 그러하다는 것을 부인할 수 없다. 초등에서 중등에 이르기까지 우리 미술 교육의 목표에 한결같이 명시되어 있는 이념이 교육의 현장에서 오도되고 있는 것이다. 본 연구는 중등과정에 이르러 미술 교육이 점점 소극적으로 실행되고 학생들은 미술 교과를 멀리하게 되어 마침내는 전인교육으로부터 벗어나는 중등 미술 교육의 현실을 중시하여 적극적인 개선책이 강구되어야 한다는데서 비롯되었다. 그리고 이에 관한 선생 연구나 미술 교육의 문헌에 분석된 여러 가지의 문제점들은 다수가 교육을 행하는 위치에서 바라본 이상적인 결론으로 귀결되고 있음을 파악하고 본 연구는 교육을 받고 있는 학생의 측면에서 그 문제점을 분석해 보고자 했다. 따라서 본 논문은 초등과정과 중등과정의 연결 단계인 중학교 미술 교육을 그 범위로 정하여 그들이 나타내는 미술 교과에 대한 흥미 변화 요인별로 문제점을 분석하여 미술 교육의 현황을 밝히고 그 개선 가능한 방향을 모색하려는 데 있다. 여기에 따른 연구 방법은 이론적인 배경에 의한 문헌 연구와, 선행 연구에 나타난 미술 교육의 문제점을 종합 분석하고 그것을 토대로 질문지를 작성하여 연구 대상인 중학교 학생에게 실시하였는데, 대상 선정은 류층 표집에 의한 분류 - 1. 교육구청별, 2. 성별, 3. 학교 학급수별, 4. 학교의 신구별(1969년 무시험 진학 전후로 구분) - 로서 서울 시내 중학교 19개교 1,224명 (각 학교 1학급 70명 기준)의 현재 2학년 학생을 대상으로 하였다. 학생들의 질문지 응답에 나타난 흥미 변화 반응과, 담당 미술교사들의 1974학년도 중학교 1학년 미술과 지도 현황을 분석하여 연구하였는데, 이같은 연구 방법과 경과에 의한 본 논문의 결론은 다음과 같다. 1. 학생 자신에 대한 요인 - 그들은 중학교에 들어서서 개인적인 흥미와 소질이라는 문제에 대해서 확고한 사고를 형성하는데 특히 소질에 대한 인식과 자신의 소질유무 판단이 미술 교과에 흥미변화를 일으키는 중요한 요인이 되고 있다. 2. 미술 교사에 대한 요인 - 교사의 성별, 학생에 대한 교사의 관심도, 교사의 수업진행 방법, 평가에 대한 신뢰도에 따라 학생들은 미술 교과의 흥미를 높이거나 잃고 있다. 3. 미술 교과 과정에 대한 요인 - 미술 시간에 진행되는 지도 내용상, 이론과 실기의 비중, 교과내용의 진도, 교과서 활용도, 교재의 실용성 유무, 영역별 분포도에 따라 흥미변화를 갖게 된다. 이는 곧 학생의 학습 능력, 미술 교사의 영향력, 그리고 현행 미술 교육 과정 이론에 있는 현실과의 차이점들이, 학생들의 흥미변화 요인인 동시에 중학교 미술 교육의 문제점으로 해석되기 때문에 본문에서 각 항목의 개선 방향을 제시하려고 했다. 이 연구가 중학교 학생들의 미술과에 대한 흥미를 높이고 미술교육의 개선에 조금이라도 기여할 수 있기를 기대한다.;The ultimate aim of art education is human completion through the art. From this point of view, there are seen in tho primary art education some distinct, educational achievements which, given to the children in proportion ta their development, might be rated higher than those achieved by simple early education, and also following researches on them are abundantly found. in the secondary course, however, art education not only becomes languid compared to the primary, but gets more and more out of favor with the pupils until the catch-phrase of whole man education through art comes to lose its own colour. From the wish to deal with these matters seriously arises this research. Most of various problems analyzed on many preceding researches or in literature on art, education have been brought to ideal conclusion merely on the part of educators, This research, on the contrary, attempts to examine these problems on the part of pupils. This research focuses its attention on the pupils of the middle school art education where the primary art education and the secondary meets together, and by analyzing the problems according to the factors of their varying interest in art subject, tries to make clear the present, situation of art education, and seek to find out the way to improve it. The method of this research is to study the literature on art through the theoretical background, to synthesize and analyze the problems shown in the preceding researches, and to try a questionaire drawn up on the base of it, to the pupils chosen as the research subject. They are limited io the second grade pupils-1224 pupils, supposing 70 per each class of all the schools-of 19 middle schools in Seoul, which are selected by the classified collection; 1. by division of educational board 2. by sex 3. by classes 4. by date of establishment (before and after the admission without examination in 1969)
