무용 기보의 고안과 실용

Abstract

무용은 음악과 같이 예술이면서 음악이 갖추고 있는 음보같은 간역하고 편리한 무보를 가지지 못하였다. 이러한 문화고형이 없는 예술은 뒤지게 마련이고, 그래서 무용의 발전은 그 어느 예술보다 뒤떨어지고 있다. 그래서 저자는 과거에 식도했던 모든 예보를 분석 검토하고, 그 단점을 밝혀내서 그것을 보완하여 알기 쉽고, 읽기 쉬운 무보를 마련하기 위하여 기호를 고안하려 식도했다. 특히 근자에 와서 쓰여지고 있는 Benesh 의 dance Shortnand와 Labanotation을 분석하였던 바, 기호가 어렵고, 쓰기에 시간을 요하며, 그 중복성, 다기성으로 복잡함을 알았다. 그래서 저자는 해부자와 기능자에 기반을 두고, 인간 운동의 작동 요소를 구명하여 무용기보를 체계화하고, 간역하며 용역하게 이용될 수 있는 기호(표6)를 고찰했고, 그 실용성을 실정하기 위하여 한국무용의 기본동작을 축운동(그림19)과 추진운동(그림20)으로 나누어 응용했든바, 용역하고 손쉽게 목적을 이룰 수 있었다. 그러나 아직 사상과 감정의 표시 기호의 고안의 여지는 남아있다.;Dance, an important branch of art, does not. possess so simple and convenient notation as music does. As any fields of learning without an appropriate notation for their cultural solidification are bound to lag behind, dance could not make much progress in comparison with other branches of art. Thus, the present writer has made an attempt to review all previous dance notations, to supplement their shortcomings, and to provide a new notational system of symbols for easy application. Especially, it is found that Bensh's dance shorthand and Labonotation, which have been widely used in recent years, not only contain extremely perplexing notational symbols but also show a great complication due to their overlapping and divercent characteristics. Therefore, in this research the writer has ventured to systematize a dance notation by analyzing the operative elements of human motions by means of anatomical and kinesiological functions of man, and to devise a new symbolic system for its easy and convenient application. I have proved practicality of the new dance notation by representing separately the axle motion and the locomotive motion in fundamental movements of Korean dance. Further research, however, is needed to express ideas and emotional feelings of dance with symbols.
