무용미 구조에 관한 연구

Abstract

감정과 사상의 표현이 미적으로 이루어지는 것이 예술이라고 한다면 과거의 무용은 지나친 기(technique) 위주의 표현에 중점을 두었기 때문에 예술적 이론의 구성을 소홀히 하였다. 또한 무용을 형이하학적 저급감각 예술인 관능적 기술로서 경시하였던 까닭에 무용의 예술상의 독자적인 체계를 정립하는데 오랜 시일을 요하였다. 20세기 초에 이르러서 현대 무용의 출현은 이와 같은 무지로부터의 탈피이며 자각이라 할 것이다. 과거의 무용은 Ballet 였고 Ballet는 무용의 형식을 의미하였다. 그 후 낭만주의 운동의 출현으로 무용이 음악적 구성에 치중하자, 연극적 요소로 인해 연극평론가에 의해 비평의 대상이 되었던 무용은 음악평론가들의 전유물로 이전 되어졌다. 이와 같이 순수무용인이 아닌 사람들에 의해 비평되고 논의 되어온 까닭으로 아직까지도 독자적인 무용 예술의 발전을 저해하고 있는 것이 사실이다. 이렇듯 무용에 대한 이론적인 구성과 인식이 낙후된 현시점에서 무용 예술로서의 발전을 위한 이론적인 연구가 요구된다. 따라서 본 논문은 무용의 미학적 접근을 위한 연구의 시도로서 무용에 있어서의 미의 추구를 위하여 일반미학과의 관계를 살펴보았으며 이를 토대로 하여 무용미 형성의 요소와 무용미의 구조를 과학적으로 분석하였다. 특히 전통무용과 결별한 현대무용을 중심으로 하여 현대무용의 의의와 발전 그리고 현대무용의 특성 등을 고찰하였다. 무용은 미학적으로 표현되는 예술이기 이전에 신체운동으로 표현되는 인체예술이다. 또한 무용인 인간의 내적인 감정, 사상 생명적인 요소와 외적인 신체의 움직임과 시간적 공간적 요소와 통합 조화되어 있어 무용의 구조에 대한 연구는 결국 미적기교와 내적표현 요소의 관계에 대한 이론적 추구로 귀결된다. 형식 위주의 표현에서 탈피하여 독자적 발전을 이룩한 현대 무용도 전통적인 무용 유산을 토대로 하여 이루어진 것을 부인할 수 없는 사실이며 무용의 구조자체에도 큰 차이가 없다. 다만 고전발레에서는 표현내용을 위한 운동으로 정형운동을 취하고 있고 현대 무용에서는 자연운동을 주로하며 특히 근의 긴장감을 중시하고 있다. 고전발레에서 찾을 수 없는, 현대 무용만이 갖는 특성 중에는 이러한 자연운동과 근의 긴장에서 기인되는 것도 있다. 형식을 위주로 하는 고전발레에 있어서는 통일성, 균형, 유사 등을 중심으로 구성하는데 비해 현대 무용은 다양성, 대비, 강조 등을 중심으로 하여 이루어져 있다. 전통적인 무용에 항거하여 인간성의 바탕을 표현의 자유와 새로운 창조를 부르짖는 현대무용의 발전은 우리나라 무용계의 근대화를 위해 많은 계시를 준다. 단순히 인간의 취미주의를 만족시키기 위하여 존재하는 춤은 무용적일수는 있어도 무용일 수는 없다. 무용은 무용미를 추구하는 표현예술로서 신체적 율동과 영혼의 매개물로서 생명력을 지니는 정신적 가치로서의 예술로서 승화되어야 한다.;The art of dance is the aesthetic expression of feeling and thought. In thc past, the art of dance emphasized so much technique in its realization that it has been relatively neglected in a view of theoretical discussion. In result, the dance has been not generally considered as an art, but as a technique, and then it has been slow to stablish and grow the theoretical method of dance in contrast with other field of art. It wes the past time that they tended to say the dance as well as a classic ballet and the art of dance was almost criticized by the musician and dramatist more than the pure dancers. The Modern Dancers which rejected positively against the artfice of the classic ballet achieved, by itself, the freedom of expression of dance and suggested in the direction of independent art of new dimension. That is to say, a presentation of modern dance is from the recognition and renovation of traditional formalism in dancing movement. Dance is an art which expresses beauty through the motion of body. It is a important subject that the dance has not to be merely physical movement but expression of art which integrated both external performance and internal meaning. The creation of dance is the crystalization of the aesthetic expression, and the emotional or mental activity of human being. It is said that the dance is based on the aesthetic technique and knowledge. Above all, it is an essential subject to study on the art of dance in an aesthetic consideration today. Therefore, this study deals with the aesthetics of dance aiming at the presentation of theoretical approach for guiding dance creativity. Modern dance as well as classic ballet, if any modern dance accomplishes it's independent style, almost has not difference each other in form and structure of aesthetics of the dance. There is unique form that modern dance has been mainly composed of the variety, the contrast, and the emphasis of dance in contrast that classic ballet becomes a element of the unity, the balance and the similarity of dance. And modern dance moves accordingly to natural movement on the contrary to fixsd form of movement in classic ballet. The contents of this thesis are as follows; Ⅰ. Introduction Ⅱ.
