현대복식조형에 대한 고찰

Abstract

본 논문은 현대복식이 조형적으로 어떠한 특색을 가지고 있나 를 다른 일반조형과 함께 고찰해 보고 현대복식에 나타나고 있는 유행(fashion)의 본질을 알아보았다. 1910년에 와서 S자형에 싫증을 느껴 폴 포아레(Paul poiret)의 호블 스커트(hobble skirt)로부터 현대로 들어선다고 할 수 있다. 1947년에는 크리스챤 디올(Christian Dior)의 뉴 룩(New look)을 들 수 있는데 어깨는 자연스럽고 부드러워야 했다. 조각에 있어서의 내면적인 것이 복식(Costume)에서도 마찬가지로 나타났는데 소매위에 하-트(heart)를 그려 넣어, 입는 사람의 감정을 전달할 필요가 없게 직접 massage를 정면에 그려 넣는 것이다. 격렬한 색상과 풍자만화 또는 정치 슬로건 익살 등으로 그려진 T 셔츠가 어린 아이들로부터 30대의 청년에 이르기까지 유행을 하게 되었다. 또 현대복식에는 여러 가지 형태가 나타났는데 그중에서도 특히 미니(mini)가 사라진 뒤 1970년을 전후해서 미디(midi), 맥시(maxi), 팬츠(pants), 진(jeans), 핫 팬츠(hot pants) 등의 여러 형태로 보였었다. 1974년이 되면서 완전히 복고풍이 나타나 1930년대의 중국식을 표방한 길이는 짧고 직선적인 구성이 여유 있는 부드러운 곡선으로 나타나게 되었다. 피카소(pablo picasso 1881-1973), 마티스(Henri Matisse 1869-1954)의 회화에서나 또 아프리카, 이집트, 멕시코 같은 것에 대한 이국적인 취미가 엿보이며 강렬한 원색을 사용한다. 전체적인 실루엘(Silhouette)은 Simple하게 나타났다. 또 현대복식에서는 소재의 다양성을 들 수 있는데, 직물로서만 복식에의 형태가 이루어진 것이 아니고 가죽, 종이, 플라스틱, 금속, 뱀의 가죽과 같은 다양한 소재를 사용하여 여성의 신선한 매력을 느끼게 했으며 현대복식의 조형적 표현으로 나타났다. 또 디올 이전의 심이나 안감 같은 딱딱한 것은 없애고 부드러운 실루엘이 나타났다. 스커트의 앞 혹은 뒤 혹은 양 옆솔기를 트거나 미니스커트 No-Bra며 어깨 끈이 없이 입는 Strapless 등으로 노출을 심하게 나타내고 있다. 조각 건축에서도 기능주의에 의해서 무장식 형태로 Simple하게 소재를 잘 살린 것과 마찬가지로 복식에서도 기능주의는 Simple한 실루엣뜨를 나타냈다. 회화에서의 강렬한 색채와 내면적이고 개성적인 면이 복식에서도 짙게 나타났다.;In this thesis the consideration was taken into what features the modern costume has in comparison with the formations in other arts. Firstly, the essential factors of fashion in the modern costume are contemplated, i.e., in 1920 "S" style was faded away and then Hobble-Skirt designed by Paul Poiret (to be tight up to thigh from knee) became popular. This was the beginning of the modern costume. In 1947 New Look designed by Christian Dior became famed featuring a softness put on shoulder and a natural look. The invisible factor similar to the formation in sculpture is ween in costumes and, for example, a message printed on the front of T-Shirt instead of expressing an individual's feeling to others by a printed symbol of Heart on sleeve. Nowadays, we are familiar to deep colors on T-Shirts like a cartoon, symbols, and other political slogans or humors. Such fashions teen-agers to youth of 30 year old. Among the forms of costumes in the past we can find such changes since 1970 in skirts as mini to Mi야, Maxi, Pants, Jeans and Hot-Pants. From 1974 a restoration mood made such fashions of imitating the age of 1930 as straight-lined and soft-curved. Also, we can see from recent fashions such tastes of using deep original colors which are influenced by the paintings of Pablo Picasso(1881-1973) and Henri Matisse(1869-1954) and also by exotic feelings on Africa, Egypt or Mexico. A silhouette is well expressed in those costumes of deep original colors but still simple. Further, there appeared varies materials for costumes of not only fabrics but also suede, paper, plastic, metal and even snake skin(in 1970 Yves St. Laurent exhibited a grand costume made of snake skin at his fashion show.) From the uses of those materials the charms of women are well expressed in varied forms of costumes. And, one of changes after Dior is seen as a soft silhouette by no uses of hard paddings or linings. In recent years the exposed forms in costumes became popular a great deal, i.e., back and front opened, Short-Skirt, No-Bra, Strapless and so forth. In conclusion, alike in sculpture and architecture the simple non-decorative forms well making uses of materials are induced into modern costumes. Also, alike in paintings the invisible personality is well expressed in costumes by such deep colors.
