어머니의 자녀양육을 위한 준비도에 따른 육아 지식에 관한 연구

Abstract

This study examined the impact of the degrees of preparation of mothers in child-upbringing on mothers' understandings in child development. The subjects were 229 mothers who were pregnant or have children aged 0 to 24 months living in Seoul. Steffensmeiner(1977)'s and Won Jung-sun(1990)'s scale for preparation for child rearing were modified and those of So Seon-Joo(1986) and Song Man-Young(1986) were used with revision as tools of measurement. Frequencies, percentage, pearson's product correlations, T-test, F-test, Duncan's Multile Range Test and Stepwise Regression were conducted for the analyses of the collected data. Crobach's α was computed for the verification of the reliability. Major results from the study could be summarized as follows: 1. the degree of preparation in the formal and informal education differed by the income and educational level of the infant's parent. 2. The significant differences observed in the degree of mother's understanding in child development by the infant's father's job status and mother's age. 3. There were significant relationships between mother's understanding in the child's physical development and father's job status and mother's aged. On the other hand, family structure mother's educational level, and mother's age were related to the level of mother's knowledge on the cognititve, language and social development of the children. 4. Mother's educational level and father's job status were strongly associated with the mother's readings on child-rearing. the study also found strong linkages among the mother's various readings on child-rearing. 5. The most influential factors on the mother's understanding in child development were father's job status, family structure and the degree of mother's preparation in formal education These factors accounted for 10% of the total variance of the mother's understanding in child development.;어머니의 자녀양육을 위한 준비도는 사회인구학적 변인(가족형태, 어머니 연령, 부모의 학력, 부모의 직업, 자녀수) 따라 어떠한가를 밝히고, 어머니의 준비도, 인구학적 변인 등에 따라 어머니의 육아지식은 영역별로 어떠한가를 파악하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울의 강북, 강남, 강동, 강서에 소재한 병원(산부인과, 소아과)에 내원한 임산부와 영아기(0~24개월) 자녀를 둔 어머니 229명을 대상으로 하였다. 측정도구는 선행연구 등에서 사용되었던 검사도구의 문항등을 참고로 하여 작성하였으며, 질문지법에 의해 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료의 분석을 위하여 빈도, 백분율, 평균, Pearson 적률상관 관계분석, T-test, F-test, Duncan's Multiple Range Test, 중다회귀분석(Stepwise Regression)을 하였으며 신뢰도 검증을 위하여 Cronbach의 α 계수를 산출하였다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 어머니의 자녀양육을 위한 준비도에 있어서 비형식적 교육형태에 의한 준비도는 소득이 120만원 미만인 집단이 120만원 이상인 집단보다 준비도가 더 잘되어 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 형식적인 교육형태에 의한 준비도는 어머니의 연령이 20대인 어머니가 30대 이상인 어머니보다 더 많이 이루어진 것으로 나타났다. 즉 연령이 적을수록 전문가에 의해 전달되는 정보에 더 의존한다고 해석할 수 있다. 2. 어머니들의 태내환경에 대한 육아지식은 차이가 나타나지 않았으나, 수유·이유에 대해서는 아버지의 직업이 일반사무직, 기술직에 종사하는 집단이 단순노무직, 생산직, 서비스직에 종사하는 집단보다 더 많이 알고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 배변훈련은 영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니가 임신한 어머니보다 더 많이 알고 있는 것으로 나타났으나 예방접종에서는 의미있는 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 3. 신체발달에 대한 육아지식은 아버지 직업이 관리직, 전문직에 종사하는 집단이 단순노무직, 생산직, 서비스직에 종사하는 집단보다 더 많이 알고 있었으며 자녀가 영아기인 어머니가 첫자녀를 임신한 어머니보다 더 많이 알고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 언어발달은 가족형태에서 확대가족 어머니가 핵가족 어머니보다 더 많이 라고 있고, 어머니 연령에서는 20대 어머니들이 30대 이상 어머니보다 언어발달에 대하여 더 많이 알고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 어머니 학력에서도 대학교 졸업 이상인 어머니가 고등학교 졸업 이하인 어머니보다 더 잘 알고 있었으며, 어머니가 취업을 한 경우 언어발달에 대해서 더 잘 알고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 사회성발달에 대해서 영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니가 첫 임신한 어머니보다 더 많이 알고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또한 아버지의 직업에 대해서는 전문직, 관리직에 종사할수록 더 많이 알고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 4. 어머니의 교육, 아버지의 직업, 아동학과 관련된 전공서적류, 자녀양육과 관련된 일반도서류가 어머니의 전체 육아지식과 의미있게 상관이 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 비형식적인 준비도와 형식적인 준비도는 서로 상관이 높았고, 아버지 교육, 아버지 직업, 어머니 학력, 소득과는 상관이 높은 것으로 밝혀졌다. 5. 어머니의 육아지식에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변인은 아버지 직업(β=.18), 가족형태(β=.15), 형식적인 교육형태에 의한 준비도 (β=.14)순으로 이러한 변인들이 어머니의 육아지식을 설명해 주는 정도는 10%이었다.
