近代 人物畵에 나타난 美人畵 硏究

Abstract

<사람 또는 사람의 행위를 주제로 한 그림>을 인물화라고 하는데 일반적 유형으로 道釋 인물화, 肖像畵, 點景 인물화를 꼽을 수 있고 특수 인물화에는 任女 인물화와 佛敎 인물화를 들 수 있다. 전통적으로 우리의 회화는 山水畵에 비해 人物畵에 대한 비중은 심미적으로 큰 가치를 차지하지 않았는데 이는 우리의 예술 이념이 자연 중심적 세계관이 중심이 되었기에 더욱 그렇다. 그 중에서도 <아름다운 여성을 주제로 한 그림>이란 회화 양식인 미인화는 발달이 더욱 부진하였으며 그나마 전래하는 작품도 적을뿐 아니라 현재 남아있는 것도 거의가 조선후기의 美人圖들이다. 신윤복, 김홍도, 채용신 등에 의해 발달하기 시작한 미인화는 전형적인 한국의 전통성과 토속화된 유형으로 정착되었으며 완성되기에 이르렀다. 근대로 넘어서면서 국권상실의 시기가 되어 그 당시로는 유일하게 새로운 문물의 통로는 日本이었으므로 우리의 작가들도 신문화를 수용하는 자세로 일본 화풍의 영향을 받았으며, 각종 전람회가 활성화됨에 따라 많은 미인화 작가도 배출되었다. 그중 協展, 鮮展, 後素會를 통해 보면 가장 특출된 인물로는 이당 김은호를 들수 있겠으며 그의 제자들에 의해 더욱 활발한 채색 미인화가 유행하게 되었다. 또한 가장 큰 미술계의 신인 등용문이자 활발한 공모전 형식이었던 선전에 의해 출세지향을 위한 작가들이 현실과 타협하게 되었으며 일본화적 요소들이 무비판적으로 도입되는 추세로 나타나게 되었다. 그리하여 인물의 전반적인 추세가 여인을 소재로 한 것이었고 독립상을 외주로 하여, 미인화는 전통적인 정신세계의 표출이 아닌 단지 장식적이고 외적인 조형과 기교를 중시하게 되는 美人圖 畵風이 만연하게 되어 구도 또한 인습적으로 틀에 박힌 화면을 모방함으로서 그당시 출품 작품들이 대개 비슷한 양상을 보여주고 있다. 또한 이때 나타난 미인화의 소재를 보면 바느질을 하거나 책 읽는 부인, 화려한 외모의 여성 등이 정적인 동작으로 서 있는 자세가 대부분이었으며 장식적인 표현미가 추구되어 있음을 알 수 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 전람회의 활성을 통해 많은 신진 작가들이 배출되었으며 현실적인 실생활의 인물과 모습이 등장하여 우리 화단에 새로운 근대적 정신을 부여하기도 하였다. 이렇게 전람회를 통해 배출된 작가들 중에는 후소회 회원들이 중심을 이루었으며 이들은 해방이후 다양한 화법의 적절한 조화로 나름대로의 독자적인 화풍을 전개해 나가며 비중있는 미술계의 증진으로 활약되고 있기에, 현대 한국 화단에 끼친 영향 또한 대단하다고 할 수 있다.;It is called a figure painting that is 'describing a person or his behavior'. The representatives in general are a portrait, and about a truth- seeking Buddha[道釋], a human interest[點景]. In specific paintings, they are about ladies' maids, and a Buddha. Our traditional paintings on a person has not had a large share aesthetically than the landscape paintings, as it is proved by the fact that our artistic ideology has been focused on the naturalism. Above all, a beauty paintings - 'describing a beautiful woman' format - has slowly developed and managed, to leave a few works the leaved at present are almost made in the late of the C'ho-seon Dynasty. Yoon-bok Shin, How-do Kim, Yong-shin C'hae enhanced the type of the beauty paintings, and it came to fixed in the stereotypic Korean tradi- tionality and ruralized type. Changing to modem times, in the loss of National Autiority, because Japan is the only escape for a new civilization, our artists were influenced by their painting style, and many artists of the field let out according to activization of the various galleries. The salient artist through Hyup-jeon[協展l, Seon-jeon[鮮展], and Hooso- association[後素會] is Leedang Eun-ho Kim, and his followers have spreaded more active colorful beauty paintings. Also by Seon-jeon as not only a public gallery also the biggest door to the artistic world, the artists for success compromise with the world, and the Japan elements were imported with no criticism. Hence the over all trend of the figure paintings described a woman, as a independent image, so it spreaded out not a representation of the traditional mental world but only a decorative and outer shape and skill ; the composition of them copied the stereotyped screen, so the works at that time were similar as they were. Most of them described a reading or sewing woman in the room, or a beauty in static form; here we can see that they are searching for decorative expressivity. In comparison, many of the rising artists let out throgh activization of the galleries, and a new modem spirit was presented by a true - type character and style. The members of Hooso association consist of these artists - who were from the gallery, and they was active as leader in art unrolling their own unique style, with a appropriate mixing various artistic skills. Therefore their influence to Korean art can get high esteem enough.
