서구여성의 머리형태 변천에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 머리형태와 모자의 시대적 변천에 관한 양식을 전개한 것으로 고대, 중세, 근세, 근대에 걸쳐서 그 특징을 지적하는데 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 서구의 고대로부터 근대까지의 각 시대 별 머리형태의 변천을 논한 것으로, 각 시대의 특징을 지적하기 위하여 문화사적인 배경을 먼저 언급하였다. 본 연구의 방법은 서구 복식에 관한 문헌자료와 미술자료에 의하였다. 각 시대에 유행했던 복식과 그 시대적 특성을 아울러 분석하고 흐름을 체계적으로 정리하였다. 머리형태와 복식의 실루엣과의 관계를 살펴본 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 단순하며 노출적이고 개방적인 의복의 고대 이집트 여성은 에로틱한 여러종류의 가발이 네크레이스와 함께 특징을 이루었다. 의복에서 균형미와 자연적인 드레이프의 미를 특징으로 했던 그리스와 로마도 머리에 자연미를 나타낸 컬과 웨이브를 하였다. 2. 동양풍이 이입되고 기독교가 문화의 모든 면을 지배하였던 중세의 비잔틴, 로마네스크 시대에는 신체를 많이 가리는 의복을 입었고, 기독교적 교리의 영향으로 머리는 양볼을 덮는 베일을 사용하거나 땋았다. 북구적 자립이 된 고딕 시대에는 신체의 선을 강조하기 시작한 곡선의 미를 나타내었고 인공적인 실루엣의 다양한 모자를 사용하였다. 3. 근세의 르네상스 시대에는 인본주의 및 도시귀족화로 낭만적이고 화려한 복식으로 가느다란 신체에 크게 부풀린 스커트를 입었고 자연적인 컬과 우드를 사용하였다. 궁정귀족화가 된 바로크 시대에는 레이스와 리본 등으로 부드럽고 화려한 형태의 의상과 깃털 또는 장식을 하였고 퐁땅쥬형의 머리형태를 하였다. 로코코 시대의 전기에는 자연적인 머리를, 후기에는 더욱 화려하고 낭만적인 느낌의 의상과 가발의 극대화를 이루었다. 4. 시민화 및 개방화가 되는 근대의 19세기 전반기에는 민주적인 고대풍을 동경하여 엠파이어 스타일과 함께 자연적인 컬이 보였고 특히, 낭만주의 시대에는 앞가르마를 한 낭만적인 컬을 하였다. 19세기 후반기에는 산업 혁명의 결과 스커트의 폭이 넓어지고 레이스나 리본 장식이 많아졌으며 시민화로 인해 쉬뇽형 머리나 본넷으로 장식하였다.;Hair style, central and essential to fashion, is a reflexion of human life history. The purposes of this study is to reveal that changes of women's hair style and hat in the long history of the west. For clarifying the characteristics of hair style in the ages, in this study each era based on history of the western culture. The main methodology of this study was literature review on the western dress and also artistic data were used. The results of this study that is to find the relation of hair style with clothes are as follows : 1. Ancient Egyptian women's clothes was characterized such as many erotic wig and necklace. Women in Greek and Rome were drapped naturally, wore balance, at the same time the age was popular with natural curled and waved hair. 2. Under the influence of dominant christianity and inflowed eastern mode, in the medieval Byzantine, Romanesque clothes with a veil covering both cheeks or braided hair was popular. And they wore a dress which is cover the body wholly. In Gothic, women impressed the beauty of body line on clothes and wore many artificial silhouette hats. 3. In Renaissance, for the humanisom and the aristocratism, clothes was splendid and Romantic and then women were dressed in a large bulged skirt. At same time, natural curl was popular and the hood was used. In the age of Baroque, women wore splended clothes that have made of the lace and ribbon. They spruced themselves up feathers and hair or ornament. Also women wore fontage hair style. In the Rococo, the former period, natural hair style was fashioned, in the latter period the more splendid and romantic clothes and wig reached to the climax. 4. In the early 19th century, women wore empire styled dress with a natural curled hair yearnning for democratic ancient, especially in Romantic age, they had romantic curled hair parted in the middle. In the latter period, skirts were widened, laces and ribbons were affluent and for the industrial revorution chignon hair style or bonnet decoration were popular.
