Character Dance가 발레에 미친 영향

Abstract

Dance is the most human artistic form that develops very closely with the stream of history which is continuously changing. Dance, which takes a form of the most honest self-expression toward actual world, has been strongly survived through many difficulties and confusions of society and human circumstances as a reflection of the times. Particularly, folk dance has been transmitted today to prevail all over the world, and takes very important role in leading the cultural interchange for understanding every nation's peculiar characteristics and customs. It is because of that folk dance has developed while preserving a nation's unique culture and traditions in spite of her numerous social changes, and that also has largely contributed to the formation of culture and society through various traditional contents and forms of dance, And we can find the foundation of movement expression of folk dance existant in the form of ballet, which has established a concrete position in the field of dance as the best artistical dance. That is, by investigating the movements of ballet as an expressional element, we can see that every movement of folk dance is now reappearing and being developed into a remake or even a creative work. Therefore, this study is to investigate the influence of folk dance on ballet, particularly to examine in which way the character dance, one type of folk dance, has been applicated into a work of ballet. So this study has considered such issues as follows: 1. By investigating the historical background of ballet, the course of incoming of folk dance into ballet has been examined to establish the artistic position of folk dance in the field of dance. 2. By analyzing mainly the types, contents and movement forms of character dance to see its influence on the works of ballet. We, Koreans related with dance genre, should extend the horizon of present dance forms by developing various subject matters and movements relevant to the traditional aspects of our country, and by recognizing the useful value of folk dance in preserving and performing it. Consequently, under this circumstance, it is hoped that this study, as the theoretical background of developing certain expressional dance forms of our country, could be a help in a series of actual effort for creating and setting the unique Korean ballet forms of our own.;무용은 유동하는 역사의 흐름과 밀착되어 발전하는 가장 인간적인 예술이다. 현실세계에 대해 가장 솔직한 자기표현의 형태를 취하는 무용은 아무리 사회나 인간환경이 부정적이고 혼란스러워도 시대적인 반영으로서 존재되어왔다. 이중에서도 특히 민속무용은 오늘날에도 전세계적으로 현존하여 여러나라의 특성과 풍습을 알게 하는 문화교류의 방편으로 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 그 이유는 그 나라의 풍속과 사회, 문화와 어우러진 그들의 민속무용이 그들의 사회변화에도 불구하고 문화와 민족전통성을 간직하면서 전개해왔기 때문이며, 각 나라마다의 고유한 민족성을 지닌 각기 특징있고 다양한 민속무용이 그 집단의 문화와 사회형성에 크게 공헌하였기 때문이다. 그리고 이러한 민속무용은 최고의 예술무용으로 확고한 위치를 차지하고 있는 발레형태속에서 그 표현의 동작적 기반을 찾을 수 있다. 즉 발레의 표현요소인 동작을 살펴보면 민속무용의 동작하나하나가 재현되고 있으며 그것이 변용, 창조에로까지 발전하였음을 알 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 1. 발레의 사적 배경 속에서 민속무용이 유입된 경로를 파악하여 민속 무용의 예술적 위치를 인지하고 2. 발레 작품에서 표현된 Charater dance의 종류 및 내용, 동작형태를 중심으로 작품을 분석하고자 하며, 특히 민속무용의 한 종류인 캘릭터 댄스가 발레작품에서 어떠한 양식으로서 활용되었는가를 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 그리하여, 본 논문은 캐릭터댄스의 「재현」 및 「개발」이라는 활용가치를 인식함으로서 민속적인 측면의 다양한 소재 및 동작개발을 통해 미래 발레의 표현 영역을 확대시켜 무용 창작의 극대화를 위한 이론적 근거를 제시하고자 함이다.
