뭉크의 版畵에 나타난 象徵的 表現 硏究

Abstract

뭉크의 시대적 배경과 성장배경을 고려하여 版畵作品형성 과정을 파악하고, 그의 體驗의 산물로 나타난 版畵作品을 중심으로 그림의 주제와 표현기법을 분석하고, 他作品과의 비교를 통하여 뭉크의 긍정적이고 부정적인 면을 재조명함으로써 版畵作品을 이해하는 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 나아가 현대회화에서 활용 가능한 표현기법, 판법 연구의 자료와 象徵主義를 재음미할 자료를 제공 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 硏究目的을 달성하기 위하여 뭉크의 성장 배경 및 시대적 배경등과 같은 인물적 기술은 文獻硏究方法을 택하고 그의 作品에 대한 비평적 분석을 병행하였다. 첫째, 뭉크는 판화를 회화만큼 중요시 하였고 판화를 통해 창의적인 시도와 기법의 혁신을 이루었다. 그의 作品 경향은 自然主義와 印象主義의 영향을 받았으나 자기內面의 세계에 관심을 두어 작가의 정신속에 살아 있는 것을 그렸다. 둘째, 뭉크의 作品의 주제는 숨을 쉬고, 느끼고, 괴로워하고, 살아있는 인간을 주제로 하였고, 판화의 판법 및 표현기법은 마음속에 일어나는 기쁨이나 고통, 두려움등의 미묘한 감정을 色彩로 표현함에 있어서 色彩는 단순한 아름다움이나 장식이 아닌 주관적 경험과 그의 상징적 시각에서 산출된 것이었다. 셋째, 뭉크의 版畵作品에서 리드미컬한 선과 거리의 평행선등은 소리의 파동이 전달되어 오는듯한 추상화와 양식화의 특징을 보인다. 이같은 속성은 反사실적인 추상화를 지향하는 앙소르, 고호, 고갱의 영향을 받은 것이다. 뭉크의 作品은 象徵主義와 아르 누보(Art-Nouveau)의 영향을 받으며 사랑, 죽음, 불안, 공포 등과 관련된 극적인 테에마로 內面世界를 視覺化하여 美術史의 한 轉換點을 提示하였다. 근대 美術에 대하여 20세기 繪畵의 또하나의 커다란 指標가 되는 일이 아닐 수 없으며, 이러한 의미에서 뭉크는 現代美術의 선구자로 손꼽히고 있다.;The Art of Munch forming process is studied in view of the background of his time and his growth, and hie products of etching, products of his personal experiences, are analyzed in respect of their characteristics, subjects, etching skill and coloring, technique of expression, so that the positive and negative aspects of his products could be re-affirmed through comparison with those of other artists. It would provide the basis for appreciating the etching products and further for evaluating the symbolism through the study of Munch's art, and for understanding the techniques of expression usable in current arts. For the study of background of Munch's growth and his time, an approach to documents is made, and the result of critical analysis of his products is as the following : First : he considered etching as important as painting. He made a creative attempt on etching, achieved an improvement in technique, ascertained if his etching matched the painting. His products were influenced by both the naturalism and the impressionism. He painted what was active in his heart. His products are characteristic of the positive aspect impressionism and the home-sick symbolism based on the factualism. Second : The subjects of Munch's products are the living people that breathe, feel and concern. He expressed in colors joy, pain, and concern that arise in one's heart. His color is not merely of beauty, but of his subjective experiences and their symbolism. Third : The rhythmical lines and the parallel lines of street in his etching are as if the waves of sound are coming out of them. They are symbolic of both the abstract and the formative paintings. These tendencies of his came from Ansoir, Goch and Gogan who went for the abstract painting based on the factual ism. The products of Munch are under the influence of symbolism and Art-Nouvre. His themes are dramatic of love, death, concern terror and so forth. He visualized a man's iternal world and contributed to offer a turning point of art history. Munch is one of the fore-runners of modern arts, offering a giant goal of 20th century's fine arts.
