한국 초·중·고등학교 교과서에 사용된 물리용어에 관한 연구

Abstract

자연과학 분야에서 용어를 정확하고 통일성있게 사용할 수 있다는 것은 어느 분야에서 보다도 매우 중요하다. 특히 지금과 같은 과학적 시대에 정확하지 않고, 일관성 없는 용어의 사용은 많은 오해와 혼란을 야기시키는 결과를 초래할 수 있다. 이러한 관점에서, 본 연구는 초·중·고등학교 교과서에 사용된 물리학 관련 용어를 가지고, 용어의 통일성 및 연계관계를 알아보고, 또한 용어의 구성어를 조사·분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 현행 초·중·고등학교 교과서에서 조사한 물리학 관련 용어는 총 514개로서 같은 내용을 서로 다르게 표현한 용어를 한 종류로 취급하여 전체용어 441 종류로 분류하였다. 따라서 한 용어가 두 가지 이상으로 표현되고 있는 것이 상당수 있음을 알 수 있다. 2. 초·중·고등학교 전 과정에서 동일하게 사용되는 용어는 10종류(2.3%)이었고, 중학교 교과서에서는 초·중·고등학교에서 사용된 전체 용어중 16.8 %에 해당하는 74종류의 용어가 사용되었다. 또한, 고등하교 교과서에서 사용된 용어는 전체 용어중 99.3 %인 439 종류나 되었고, 고등학교 교과서 중, 한 종류의 교과서에만 표현된 용어도 상당수 있음을 알 수 있다. 3. 국민학교와 중학교, 중학교와 고등학교간의 연계성은 좋은 편이었다. 4. 전체용어 514개 중에서 한자어로 이루어진 용어가 대부분을 차지하고 있었으며, 외래어로 표기한 용어는 32개 ( 6.2 % )인 반면, 순 우리말 표기용어는 거의 사용되지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 5. 외래어의 일관성있는 사용으로, 외래어 표기법의 통일성은 좋은 편이었다.;In the field of natural Science, it is more important to use terminologies correctly with uniformity than anything else. Particularly using Physics terminologies without correction and consistency, in science like these days, it would bring about many misunderstandings and confusions. In this connection, this study has been performed to examine the uniformity and consistency of the Physics terminologies used in the Physics textbook of elementary, middle, high school and to analyze structural words of Physics terminologies. 1. The 514 Physics terminologies examined in the current Physics textbook of elementary, middle and high school. This study treated terminologies which expressed a same meaning to more than two terms with one group and classified them into 441 terms. Consequently it has been found that one was expressed more than two different terms. 2. The terms used in the textbook of elementary, middle and high school consistantly are only ten (2.3%). In middle school textbook, 74 terms (16.8%) are used in total 441. While 438 terms (99.3%) are used in high school textbook. 3. The relations of elementary and middle school, middle and high school are pretty good. 4. The terminologies of Chinese characters in total 514 is 32 (6.2%) is expressed with borrow languages. While Korean is secarcely. 5. The use of borrw language has a good uniformity and consistency.
