Abstract
大學行政을 效率化하기 위한 努力에 높아져 가는 趨勢에 놓여있다. 行政의 效率化는 그 行政 責任을 主觀하고 있는 指導者의 行動類型과 直結된다고 볼 수 있다. 本 硏究의 目的은 리이더쉽 類型에 관해 調査 分析, 檢討함으로써 體育料 組織狀況에서 學科長에게 要求되는 리이더쉽의 類型을 具體化하는데 그 目的이 있다. 調査對象은 全國의 4年制 27個 大擧의 學科長 27名과 소속학과 同僚敎授 112名을 對象으로 標集하였다. 調査道具는 指導者 行動 記述 質問紙(Leadership Behavior Descrption Questionaire:LBDQ)를 使用하였으며 이 LBDQ는 리이더쉽 行動 要素 4가지인 課業(Initiating Structure), 人和(Consideration), 自由許容(Tolerance of Freedom), 役割期待(Role Assumption)를 測定하는 質問紙이다. 質問紙 實施에서 얻은 모든 資料는 컴퓨터를 利用하여 統計 處理되었다. 蒐集된 硏究資料를 分析하여 얻은 結果를 基礎로 다음과 같은 結論을 내릴 수 있었다. 1:學科長이 知覺하는 자신에 대한 리이더쉽의 類型은 自由許容과 人和面에 치중한 反面, 同僚敎授에 의해 知覺된 學科長의 리이더쉽은 役割期待와 課業面에 치중하고 있는 경향이었다. 2:學科長 자신의 리이더쉽 行動과 同僚敎授에 의한 리이더쉽 行動간에는 課業 要素를 除外하고는 其他 要素인 人和, 自由許容, 役割期待 要素에서는 有意度 1% 수준에서 현격한 差異가 있었다. 3:學科長 자신의 리이더쉽 行動은 有意度 1% 수준에서 4개 要素別로 현격한 差異가 있는 反面, 同僚敎授의 知覺에 의한 리이더쉽 行動은 4개 要素別 有意할 만한 差異가 없었다. 4:學科長의 리이더쉽 行動은 性別(男, 女) 地域別(서울, 地方)로 有意度 1% 수준에서 有意할 差가 없고 또한 4개 要素別, 性別, 地域別의 相互作用에 있어서도 有意할 만한 差를 보이지 않았다.;The purpose of this study was to determine the leadership style of department head of Physical education of 27 selected 4-year colleges and universities in Korea. Specifically, this study was mainly an attempt to investigate the patterns of leadership behaviors of department heads themselves and the leadershtp behaviors perceived by fellow faculty member. The Leader Behavior Description Questionnaire (LBDQ) devised by Stogdill adapted to Korean situations was used to measure leadership behaviors. LBDQ form ⅹⅰⅰ consisted of LBDQ (self) form and LBDQ (members) form in which the leader can describe his own leadership behavior and the leadership behavior perceived by the faculty members, respectively. The LBDQ were mailed to and collected front 27 chairpersons of department of physical education of 27 four-year colleges and universities and 112 teaching faculty members of those departments. Comparisions of the leadership behaviors (self) and the rerceived leadership behaviors (members) were made in terms of group differences and were analyzed using t-test and ANOVA. The major results of this study were as follows: 1. Department chairpersons felt they have more tolerance of freedom and greater consideration than their faculty members perceive them to have, whereas faculty members' perceived leadership behavior showed more job assumption and greater initianting structure. 2. There was a significant difference between leadership behaviors (self) and the perceived leadership behavior in all leadership components except for the initiating structure. 3. There were significant differences among the four components of leadership, while there was no significant difference among the perceived leadership behaviors of faculty members.
