dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to investigate the level of forming of logical thinking of the freshman and to research the relationship of the level of forming of logical thinking and chemistry academic achievement. Hence, in this study, the basic logics of logical thinking was confined to weight conservation logic, volume displacement logic, proportional logic, controlling variables logic, correlation logic, combination ligoc, probability logic, and sex and department was set as independent variables presumed to affect the level of forming of above logics. Therefore, in this study, whether or not there if meaningful difference in the level of forming of logical thinking from sex and department is analyzed first by traverse method, and then the relationship of logical thinking and chemistry academic achievement is analyzed. The summary of forming of the basic logics of logical thinking is shown in Table 20. Table 20. The level of forming of logical thinking. (unit:%, N=128) ◁표 삽입▷(원문을 참조하세요) The findings of this study were as follows: First, the results of testing the forming of logical thinking with distinction of sex using x^(2) technique suggested that there was no meaningful difference in forming of logical thinking between male and female students. Second, the results of testing the forming of logical thinking with distinction of department using x^(2) technique suggested that there was meaningful difference in forming of logical thinking between natural science and humane science department students. Third, the result of testing the relationship of the forming of logical thinking and chemistry academic achievement using x^(2) technique suggested that there was meaningful correlation between the forming of logical thinking and chemistry academic achievement. As a result, it is noteworthy that the forming of logical thinking is significant factor predicting the level of chemistry academic achievement.-
