영어 발음 지도의 문제점

Abstract

The traditional method of foreign language education put much stress on grammar and written form, but it ignored the importance of communication still. Recently much emphasis has been placed on spoken form, listening and speaking being placed on top priority of learning. The most important aspect in learning is acquiring the sound system of the target language. We should acquire the ability to distinguish and pronounce the characteristic English distinctive sound features and their variants. The linguistic habits already acquired in the learner's native language can e an obstacle in studying a foreign language. Contrastive analysis, the method of looking at linguistic similarities and differences of two different languages, is considered important for more satisfactory results in foreign language education. By a contrastive method the teacher can make an accurate prognosis about learning problems and difficulties in drilling . The purpose of this thesis is to find out similarities and differences between English and Korean by contrasting and analysing, based on Korean students' pronunciation of English, Particularly the sound systems of the consonants of the two languages have been studied to find the phonetic problems due to the differences between the two sound systems. By studying the mispronunciation I want to set up guiding principles and methods for helping Koreans while they are learning English, and present some methods of pronunciation guidance.;한국어를 모국어로써 이미 습득한 한국 학생들은 목표어인 영어를 습득하는 동안에, 한국어와 영어의 음운상의 차이로 인하여 발음상에 어려움을 겪고, 많은 오류를 범하게 된다. 그러므로 두 언어를 비교 분석하여 그 차이점 및 유사점을 알아낸다면 오류를 줄일 수 있고, 보다 효과적인 발음지도가 가능할 것이다. 그 방법으로 한국어와 영어의 자음 음소를 비교하고, 음소체계의 차이때문에 일어나는 과오를 살펴보았다. 그리고 영어 자음에서 음성적 환경에 따라 일어나는 변이음이 어떻게 발음되었는가를 상술하여 모국어의 발음 습관이 변이음의 발음에 어떤 영향을 주는가 찾아내어 그 해결 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 두 언어를 비교하여 해결방안을 찾는데 근거를 둔 Test를 학습자에게 실시해봄으로써, 발음습관 및 오류를 발견해 내어 그에 적절한 해결책을 찾고자 하였다.
