미술 전공자들의 교직에 관한 관심도 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 현재 미대 재학생들의 미술교육에 대한 관심이 어떠하며 어느 대상에 관심이 있는지를 조사하고 특히 중·고등학교 미술교사에 관심이 어느 정도 있는 지를 조사하는데 있다. 또한 이러한 결과들이 사대생과 비사대 학생간에 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 검증하는데 있다. 이에 따라 다음과 같은 문제를 설정하였다 1. 미대 학생들이 대학진학 동기와 직업의 선호도는 어떠한지? 2. 미대 학생들의 미술교육에 대한 관심도와 관심이 있는 이유는 무엇인지? 3. 미대 학생들은 어떠한 분야에 관심이 있는지? 4. 미대 학생들의 중·고등학교 미술교육에 대한 관심도와 관심이 있는 이유 는 무엇인지? 이상의 연구 문제를 수행하기 위하여 관계문헌을 토대로 하여 관점별로 질문지를 작성하고 서울과 지방에 위치한 미술대학 재학중인 학생 700명을 대상으로 하였다. 미술학과 중에서 비사대 8개 대학과, 사대 6개 대학을 임의로 선정하였으며 학생들의 의견 차이를 비교하였다. 본 연구에서는 나타난 내용과 수치를 비교 분석하였으며 질문지를 각 문항별로 통계 처리하여 백분율(%)과 카이자승 검정(χ²)으로 비교 분석하였다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 미술전공 학생들의 대학 진학 동기는 적성을 살리기 위해서이며 미술 전공자들이 진출하고자 하는 분야에서는 사대 비사대 공통적으로 대학교수를 선호하였다. 다음으로 희망하는 직업에서 사대 학생들은 중·고등학교 미술교사에 관심이 많았고, 비사대 학생들은 작가로 교직과 관련되지 않은 직업에 관심이 많았다. 현재 재학중인 학생들의 미술교직에 대한 관심도를 조사한 결과는 전체적으로는 중간 정도로 나타났다. 전체적으로 교직에 대한 관심은 대학 진학 후에 미술교육에 대한 관심이 높아진 것을 알 수 있었다. 관심이 있는 이유는 경제력의 해결과 미술교육 자체에 대하여 알고 싶다는 의견이었으며 교사의 중요성을 느끼는 사람은 많지 않았다. 또한 미술교육에 관심이 없는 이유에서는 사회적으로 발전성이 없다는 의견이 많았다. 가르치고 싶은 대상 중에서는 대학교수에 관심이 많았지만, 그에 반해 진출하기 힘들다는 의견으로 교수로써 진출하기 힘들다는 것을 인식하고 있었다. 가르치고 싶은 대상을 결정할 때에는 전문성을 발휘할 수 있는 지를 고려하였다. 교육 대학원 진학 여부에서는 사대생들이 비사대 학생들보다 대학원에 진학할 의사가 많았다. 비사대의 경우에 교육 대학원에 진학하고자 하는 학생들 중에는 자격증을 이수하기 위해서 진학을 원하는 학생도 있었다. 중·고등학교 미술교육에 대한 관심은 어느 정도 인지를 조사하기 위해 교직신청 유무를 조사한 결과는 사대생들은 모두 신청했고 비사대 학생들은 극소수에 불과 했다. 중·고등학교 미술교육에 관심이 있는 이유로써는 안정적이라는 이유에 가장 많은 의견을 보였다. 졸업 후 교사로 있고 싶은지의 질문에서 절대적으로 희망하는 사람은 많지 않았다. 이러한 조사를 통해 미술 전공 학생들은 실질적으로 미술교육에 관심이 적은 편은 아니지만 교직보다는 자신의 전공을 좀 더 살릴 수 있는 직업에 관심이 더 많으며 미술교직에 관심이 있는 학생들의 경우는 교직에 대하여 발전성이 없다는 것을 알았다. 미술교사는 전문적인 능력을 갖추어야 함은 물론 이지만 교사의 전문성을 높이기 위해서는 미술교직에 관심을 갖고 있는 학생들의 개인적인 자세도 중요하다. 미술 전공 학생들에게 바람직한 교사적 자질을 함양 할 수 있는 여건과 교육이 이루어져 미술교육의 의미와 중요성을 절감하여 사명감을 가지고 미술교육에 임하는 풍토가 조성 되야 하겠다. ; The goal of this research is to understand the difference in art education between art major students from education universities and from non-education university. This study is based on survey results obtained from college students for their interest level of art education and the scope of target students, especially middle and high school students. For the survey, the following questions were set up; 1. What is the general motivation of majoring in art education? 2. What is the level of interest in art education? And Why is it? 3. Who are the major target students for their art education? And why is it? 4. What would be research topics? A questionnaire was made for each item and distributed to 700 college students in Seoul and suburban for the current study. The 700 responses from eight education universities and six non-education universities were compared each other and analyzed by percentage and chi-square method in Statistics. The results are as follows; 1. Current college student s interests in art education were not high nor low. This showed no difference between students from education or non-education universities. 2. The interest in art education has surfaced out after entering university and the interest had more origin at pure curiosity in art education rather than being a teacher in the future. 3. The most favorable career path after graduation was a professor. which was equally true for responses from both education and non-education universities. 4. The most important factor in choosing the target students was whether one can utilize his professional skills or not, the response showed. 5. As far as middle and high school teaching, the response from non-education university raised a concern in the limited chance of getting the teaching certificate. The chance was especially slim for the students who did not applied for teaching credits. 6. The major reason for the interest in the middle and high school teaching was due to its job security. 7. Art major students want to study further in the professional school after graduation and they believe that the more study should be done in the areas of special art for medical treatment and child art. All survey results concluded that majority of students thought it was important to utilize their professional skills after graduation and art education was thought to be a method of doing so.
