탐구적 일반화학 실험에 대한 평가 준거 개발

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop rubrics for an inquiry-based experiments of general chemistry. The inquiry-based experiments of general chemistry had been developed previously for pre-service science teachers at teacher training course. In this study, the general rubrics for assessing inquiry skills and the specific rubrics for each laboratory experiments were developed. The rubrics were divided into two sections which one is for assessing students laboratory reports and the other is for assessing students individual manipulative skills and attitudes in the laboratory. This study was carried out as following order: 1. 10 laboratory topics were selected from the inquiry-based experiments of general chemistry developed previously. 2. Inquiry skills were selected from each laboratory topics. 3. The general rubrics about inquiry skills were developed. This rubrics were based on Creative and critical thinking skills by Lawson and the assessment framework by Nam, Jeong Hee. 4. The specific rubrics about students laboratory reports, students individual manipulative skills and attitudes in the laboratory for each laboratory topics were developed. The specific rubrics about students laboratory reports were developed based on the general rubrics. 5. The validity of this rubrics was investigated by experts in science education. 6. The developed rubrics were revised through the validity analysis and field tests. This suggests that the developed rubrics satisfy the validity requirements for general assessment instruments for students inquiry skills, manipulative skills and attitudes in the laboratory. ; 이 연구의 목적은 일반화학을 수강하는 예비 과학교사가 될 학생들을 위하여 강순희 등(1997)이 개발한 탐구적 일반화학 실험 중 열 개의 실험 주제에 대한 실험 평가 준거를 개발하는 것이다. 이 실험들은 전통적인 대학 일반화학 실험 형태와는 다르게 탐구적인 사고 기능 습득을 위한 순환 학습 형태로 구성되어져 있다. 따라서 탐구적 일반 화학 실험을 통해 습득한 탐구 능력을 평가하기 위해서는 각 실험 주제에 대하여 해당하는 탐구 기능 요소에 대한 일반적인 평가 준거와 구체적인 채점 준거가 있어야 한다. 또한 실험 과정을 통해 습득한 수공적 기능과 실험에 임하는 태도를 평가하기 위한 준거도 필요하다. 이 연구에서는 탐구 기능 요소를 평가하기 위한 일반적인 평가 준거와 각 실험에 대한 구체적인 채점 준거를 개발하였으며, 이러한 실험들에 대한 채점 준거는 크게 두 가지로 나누어 개발하였다. 첫째는 학생들이 각각의 실험을 진행한 후에 작성하여 제출하는 실험 보고서를 평가하는 지필 평가 도구로서의 채점 준거이고, 둘째는 실험 현장에서 교사가 관찰에 의하여 학생들의 개인별 수공적 기능 및 실험 태도를 평가하는 채점 준거이다. 이 연구는 다음의 연구 단계를 거쳐 수행되었다. 1. 본 연구실에서 새로이 개발한 탐구적 일반 화학 실험 중 열 개의 탐구 실험 주제를 선정하였다. 2. 선정한 열 개 실험 각각에 대하여 해당하는 탐구 요소를 추출하였다. 3. Lawson(1994)이 상세화한 7가지 범주의 ‘창조적이며 비판적인 탐구적 사고 기능’과 남정희(1996)가 제시한 탐구 과정기능 요소에 대한 평가 준거를 토대로 하여 각 탐구 요소에 대한 일반적인 평가 준거를 개발하였다. 4. 각 실험에 대하여 실험 보고서 평가를 위한 구체적인 채점 준거와 개인별 수공적 기능 및 실험 태도 평가를 위한 구체적인 채점 준거를 개발하였다. 5. 개발된 모든 실험 평가 준거에 대하여 탐구 실험 개발과 수행에 직접 참여한 과학교육 전문가 세 명과 과학교육 전공 대학원생 세 명에게 타당도를 검증받았다. 6. 타당도 점검 결과와 탐구적 일반화학 실험을 현장 적용한 후 평가하여 얻어진 결과를 토대로 하여 다시 한번 열 개 실험에 대한 채점 준거를 수정·보완하였다. 이 연구에서 개발한 일반적인 평가 준거와 두 가지 형태의 구체적인 채점 준거는 실제 실험 과정에서 학생들이 습득하는 탐구 능력과 수공적 기능 및 실험 태도를 평가하기 위한 총괄적인 평가 도구이다. 따라서 실제 현장에서 학생들의 실험 보고서를 이용하여 탐구 능력을 평가하고 관찰을 통하여 개인별 수공적 기능과 실험 태도를 평가하는데 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것이다.
