여로 알카로이드 항균작용에 관한 연구

Abstract

Three antimicrobial alkaloids were isolated from Veratrum grandiflorum (Maxim) Loes. fil. and identified as veratramine, jervine and pseudojervine. Veratrobasine, isorubijervine, protoveratrine A and B were also detected by TLC, out of which protoveratrine A and B exhibited no antimicrobial action. Of several alkaloids tested, only jerveratrum alkaloids exhibited antimicrobial action ; jervine, pseudojervine, veratrobasine, isorubijervine and veratramine in decreasing order, were effective against Pityrosporum ovale and pseudojervine, jervine, veratramine, veratrobasine and isorubijervine against Trichophyton mentagrophytes. These results and together with the fact that solanidine is inactive against fungi suggest that oxigenation at C-11 for C-nor D-homo steroidal alkaloids and at C-18 for normal steroidal alkaloids plays an important role in activity.
