대화 상대자 간 숙달도 차이에 따른 한국어 학습자의 의미협상 양상 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 대화 상대자 간 숙달도 차이에 따른 한국어 학습자의 의미협상 양상을 밝혀 유의미한 목표 어 습득을 이룰 수 있는 상호작용 짝 구성 방안을 마련하는데 있다. 이러한 본 연구의 구성과 각 장의 내용은 다음과 같다. Ⅰ장에서는 대화 상대자 간 숙달도 차이에 따른 의미협상 양상 연구의 목적과 필요성을 밝히고 학습자 간 의미협상을 다룬 선행연구들을 살펴봄으로써 제 2언어 습득 분야의 의미협상 연구의 흐름을 정리하고 다시 한 번 본 연구의 필요성과 의의를 확인한 후 연구 문제를 제시하였다. Ⅱ장에서는 Long(1980)의 상호작용 가설과 의미협상의 개념을 설명하고 Gass와 Varonis(1985a)의 의미협상 과정을 소개하였다. 이를 바탕으로 상호작용이 학습자들의 목표 어 습득에 유의미한 도움을 준다는 사실을 밝히고, 본고에서 핵심적으로 다루어지는 의미협상 과정의 단계와 그 세부 전략에 대해 기술하였다. Ⅲ장에서는 본고의 연구 방법 및 절차를 밝히고 있는데, 본 연구의 실험은 국내 대학 기관에서 한국어를 학습하고 있는 중국인 2 - 30대 중급과 고급 학습자 36명을 대상으로 ‘조각 그림 맞추기’ 과제를 통해 실시되었다. 실험은 예비실험을 거친 뒤 본 실험이 진행되었으며, 학습자 간 대화 상호작용을 녹음•녹화한 자료를 전사•분석하여 연구가 이루어졌다. 이후에는 본고의 의미협상 양상을 정의하는 틀과 각 집단 간 의미협상의 차이를 분석하기 위한 공식을 설명하고 선행연구를 수정•보완하여 마련한 세부전략의 틀을 제시하였다. Ⅳ장에서는 연구결과 및 분석이 이루어졌는데, 본 연구에서 이루어진 분석 절차 및 기준을 제시하고 각 연구 문제에 따른 연구 결과를 기술하였다. 이는 크게, 집단 간 의미협상 양상의 차이를 분석하고, 대화 상대자 간 숙달도 차이에 따른 의미협상 양상의 차이를 분석한 후 의미협상의 단계별 세부 전략 사용 양상을 면밀히 고찰하는 것으로 이루어졌다. Ⅴ장에서는 본 연구의 결과를 전체적으로 정리하고 그 의의를 살폈는데, 이러한 논의를 통해 살핀 본 연구에서는 선행 연구에서 주목 받지 못했던 대화 상대자 간 숙달도 차이에 따른 의미협상 양상을 밝히고 그 세부 전략 사용 특징까지 고찰함으로써 유의미한 한국어 습득을 위한 상호작용 짝 방안을 마련할 수 있었다.;This study intends to inspect aspects of Korean language learners' negotiation of meaning according to proficiency difference among interlocuters and prepare the method to compose interaction pairs for acquisition of the significant target language. In this study, the composition and contents of each chapter are like followings below. In ChapterⅠ, this study identifies the aim and necessity of study on negotiation of meaning according to proficiency difference among interlocuters with research of precedent studies on negotiation of meaning among learners. Through such a process, it reviews the study flow of negotiation of meaning in the second language acquisition and presents research topics after reaffirming necessity and significance of this study. In Chapter Ⅱ, this study explains interaction hypothesis by Long((1980) and the concept of negotiation of meaning, and introduces the process of negotiation by Gass and Varonis(1985a). Ultimately it identifies the fact that interaction is of significant help to learners' acquisition of target language and describes the steps and detail strategies of negotiation of meaning centrally dealt in this study. In Chapter Ⅲ, this study refers to research methods and procedures. The experiment of this study was conducted for 36 Chinese intermediate and advanced learners in their twenties-thirties who are learning Korean at the domestic universities through 'jigsaw' task. After preliminary experiment, main experiment was conducted. And research was done through transcription•analysis of recording• videotaping data on dialogue interaction among learners. And then, it explains the frame to define aspects of negotiation of meaning and the formula to analyze difference of negotiation of meaning among each group. It also presents the frame of the detail strategies done by correction •complement of precedent studies. In Chapter Ⅳ, as for the research results and analysis, this study presents analytic procedures and criteria and describes the results of each research topic. It was done through close examining of detail strategies use by step for negotiation of meaning after analyzing difference of negotiation of meaning aspects among groups and according to proficiency difference among interlocuters.
