纖維藝術과 質感表現

Abstract

纖維는 인간생활과 밀접한 관련을 맺으면서 視覺的, 觸覺的인 효과를 硏究하는 가운데 발전되어 왔다. 纖維藝術의 표현재료인 纖維는 종류가 많고 기법에 따라서도 質感表現이 다양하므로 그에 따라 조형적 특성에 대하여 檢討함은 작품활동에서 중요한 과제가 된다. 本 硏究의 目的은 纖維藝術에 있어서 실의 꼬임과 풀기에 따른 질감의 특성과 조형적 표현효과를 규명하는데 있다. 標集에 있어서 纖維로는 보편환 된 絹, 綿, 毛, 麻 등의 특성을 살펴 보았으며 자료처리는 실의 꼬임과 풀기에 따른 질감의 특성과 표현효과를 분석할 수 있는 것으로 有意標集하였다. 本 硏究의 중요한 발견을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 부드럽고 우아한 광택을 지닌 絹은 촘촘하게 꼬았을때는 견고하고 광택이 있으며, 느슨하게 꼬기는 원만함을 느끼며 겹쳐 꼬기는 量感의 율동감, 풀기는 포근하게 표현된다. 소박한 느낌을 지닌 絹은 촘촘하게 꼬았을때는 담백하며 느슨하게 꼬기는 重量感을 느끼며 겹쳐 꼬기는 율동성이 있으며 풀기는 소박하게 느껴진다. 포근한 毛는 촘촘하게 꼬았을때는 견고하며 느슨하게 꼬면 여유있는 量感과 動感을 표현하며 겹쳐 꼬기는 彈力있고 立體的인 질감을 표현하며 풀기는 부드럽게 느껴진다. 거칠은 麻는 촘촘하게 꼬기에서는 강인하게 느껴지며 느슨하게 꼬았을때는 둔탁하고 겹쳐 꼬기는 강인한 입체감을 표현하며 풀기에서는 산만하며 거칠은 느낌이다. 그러나 실의 꼬임과 풀기에 의해서 변화된 질감은 섬유의 본성에 의한 天然質感을 기반으로 하되 변화된 질감의 특성이 다르게 표현되므로 조형적 표현효과도 다양하게 규명된다. 실의 꼬임과 풀기는 질감표현의 기본조건이 된다. 그러므로 質感은 形態, 色彩, 量感과 같이 조형의 기본요소로서 시각적 또는 촉각적으로 폭 넓게 작용하게 되며 조형적 표현의 본질을 형성하게 되므로 현대 섬유예술에서 추구되어야 할 과제다.;The Practical and assthetic utilization of fiber, as an important part of human life, has been pursued visually and tactilely with eagerness. Fiber, the material of fabric art, is the necessary part to examine for formative characteristic of work action because it consists of so many different kinds and texture expressions through their methodes. The aim of this study is to prove the textural characteristic and the formative expression effect according to the twisting and untwisting of thread. There were four kinds of fiber used in this study; silk, cotton, wool and linen and several samples of works abstracted so as to analyze the characteristic of texture expressions and formative effects according to the twisting and untwisting of thread. Important discoveries in this study are summarized as follows. Silk which has soft and elegant, turns solid and shiny when it twisted densely, smooth when it twisted loosely, rhythmical in the volume when it twisted double, and mild when it untwisted. cotton which has simple, turns candid when it twisted densely, weigh when it twisted loosely, flexible when it twisted double, and simple when it untwisted, Wool which has mild, turns solid when it twisted densely, superflous in the volume and movement when it twisted loosely, elastic and solid in the texture when it twisted double, and soft when it untwisted. Linen which has rough, turns stiff when it twisted densely, dull when it twisted loosely, stiff in the solidity when it twisted double, and diffuse and rough in the feeling when it untwisted. But fiber appears differently in characteristic of texture according to the twisting and untwisting of thread and is expressed beyound the restriction of natural texture. And the effects which expressed formatively turns out to be diversified. The twisting and untwisting are also the fundamental elemants in texture expressions. Texture is a part which must be pursued in modern Fabric Art as a fundamental elament of formation with shape, colour, and volume because it works widely in visualization and tactility, and forms the expressional nature formatively.
