공통과학 교과서 및 수업현황에 관한 교사들의 인식

Abstract

제6차 교육과정에 의해 고등학교에서는 1996년부터 실시된 '공통과학' 이라는 과목이 새로이 신설되었다. 이 과목은 기존 과목과 달리 물리, 화학, 생물, 지학의 통합적 내용이라는 점에서 가장 큰 특징을 찾을 수 있다. 본 연구는 제 6차 교육과정을 통하여 '공통과학' 교과서에 대한 교사들의 인식을 조사하고, 현장에서 실시된 공통과학의 수업 상황을 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 고등학교 공통과학의 수업시 2명이상의 과학교사가 분담하여 맡는 경우가 많았고, 이때 선정된 과학교사의 전공은 특별히 선호되는 것이 없다. 2. 일선교사들은 교과서가 '교육과정'의 목표와 방법에 보통정도로 따른다고 생각하고 있으며, 대부분 교과서 종류에 따른 변화와 지도하는 선생님의 전공과목, 연령, 학력, 공통과학을 분담하고 있는 방식에 있어서는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 그러나, 교과서 종류에 따라 실생활 문제의 과학적 해결능력 신장에 차이가 있으며, 자연현상과 과학학습에의 흥미증가와 탐구자세 신장에 교과서 종류와 과목을 지도하는 교사의 연령에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있다. 3. 공통과학 수업현황에 대한 일선 교사들의 의견은 교과서를 평가하는 것보다 좀더 부정적 견해를 보였다. 탐구활동위주의 수업이 목표이나 현실과의 괴리속에 문제점이 있었다. 수업의 평가에 있어서도 객관적이고 체계적인 탐구활동 평가문항의 미비로 인하여, 탐구수업을 하였을 경우라도 평가할 수 있는 어려움이 있다. 또한, 공통과학을 가르치는 경우 대부분 지필평가를 선택하고 있었다. 다양한 평가방법을 이용하기에는 학생수가 너무 많고, 시간수가 부족하다고 교사들은 원인들들 지적하고 있다.;High school general science is created by the six educational curriculum. This is different with other high school science, because it is added by physical, chemical, biological and Earth science and that is new educational system. The major purpose of this study is to analyze high school general science with the six educational curriculum and to know science class in school. The results are as follows ; 1. Many high school teachers choose textbook that included little the STS material. More than two science teachers are teaching the high school general science and when they are chosen, they are not connected with their major. 2. The Teacher teaching the high school gerneral science thought textbook is according to the six educational currculum. This thoughts are not dependent on teachers' comparement and textbook's class. but, the several matters based on STS is compared. 3. The teacher teaching the high school general science thought that teaching the textbook in school is worse than analysizing it. they must have emphasised on learning of inquire method than system of knowledge, introduction to material connected with real life and science and technology in society in the high school general science.
