무용(학)과 학생들의 전공에 대한 만족도 조사연구

Abstract

무용(학)과 학생들의 전공에 대한 만족정도를 파악하는데 목적을 둔 본 연구는 이와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위해서 먼저 무용의 교육적 의미와 가치 그리고 4년제 대학 무용교육의 현황을 많은 참고문헌 및 연구논문을 통해 고찰하였다. 그리고 이러한 기초자료를 토대로 무용(학)과 전공학생들의 전공에 대한 만족정도를 구체적으로 살펴보기 위하여 무용(학)과 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 표집대상은 현재 서울시내에 위치한 4년제 대학 무용(학)과중 5개 대학을 임의로 선정한 다음, 선정대학에 재학 중인 3, 4학년 학생 중 250명에게 설문지를 배부하였으며, 불성실하게 응답한 자료로 판단된 표본을 분석대상에서 제외하여 최종적으로 사용된 표본은 총 191명이었다. 본 연구에서 사용된 조사도구는 「무용(학)과 학생들의 전공에 대한 만족도」라는 설문지로써 그 동안 만족도 연구에서 사용된 설문지의 내용 중 무용(학)과 교육과정과 관련된 설문문항을 기초로 하여 설문지 초안을 작성한 후 예비조사를 통하여 중요도 문항과 현실성 문항 각각 26개 문항으로 수정, 보완한 것이다. 자료 분석을 위한 본 연구에서 사용한 통계 분석 기법은 T검증과 일원분산분석(ONE WAY ANOVA)이었으며, 이상의 연구 방법과 절차를 통하여 무용(학)과 학생들의 전공에 대한 만족정도를 조사한 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 교과과정에서의 학년별 중요도는 "만족한다" 였으며, 현실성에서는 중요도에 비해 만족도가 낮았고, 인식의 차이는 거의 없다고 볼 수 있다. 전공별 중요도 인식은 한국무용전공, 현대무용 전공, 발레 전공의 순으로 만족하고 있었고, 현실성 인식에서는 현대무용 전공, 한국무용 전공, 발레 전공의 순으로 만족하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 출신고등학교별 중요도와 현실성에서 인식의 차이는 거의 없다고 볼 수 있으며, 대체로 만족하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 2. 진로방향에서의 학년별 중요도는 학년의 차이가 거의 나타나지 않았으나 현실성에서 4학년보다 3학년이 진로에 대하여 만족치 못한 것으로 나타났다. 전공별 중요도 인식은 한국무용 전공, 현대무용 전공, 발레 전공의 순으로 만족하고 있었고, 현실성 인식에서는 현대무용 전공, 발레 전공, 한국무용 전공의 순으로 만족하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 출신 고등학교별 중요도나 현실성에서 인식의 차이는 거의 없다고 볼 수 있으며, 현실성은 중요도에 비해 두 집단 모두 불만족하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 3. 학교와 사회의 인식에서의 중요도는 학년별, 전공별, 출신고등학교별에 관계없이 "보통이다"의 수준 이상의 인식을 나타내었으나 현실성에서는 "만족하지 않는다"는 의견이 크게 나타났다. 4. 학교 환경과 평가에서의 학년별 중요도는 3, 4학년 모두 "만족하다"였으나 현실성에서는 중요도에 비해 불만족하다고 나타났다. 전공별 중요도 인식은 현대무용 전공, 한국무용 전공, 발레 전공의 순으로 만족하고 있었고, 현실성 인식에서는 한국무용 전공, 발레 전공, 현대무용 전공의 순으로 만족하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 출신 고등학교별 중요도와 현실성에서는 두 집단 모두 "보통이다"와 "만족하다"는 의견의 중간 정도를 차지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 5. 전공에 대한 이해도에서의 인식결과는 학년별, 전공별, 출신고등학교별에 관계없이 "보통이다"의 수준 이상의 인식을 나타내고 있어 대부분 만족하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.;The purpose of this study is to grasp the level of students' satisfaction with their majors in the department of dance, and to accomplish this purpose, the educational meanings and values of dance and the present circumstances of dance education in universities have been investigated through relevant literatures and treatises. And based on the resulted data, a questionnaire research has been carried to the students in the department of dance to look at closely the level of satisfaction with the major. As a subject of questionnaire, firstly five universities in Seoul have been selected at random, and next 250 juniors and seniors in the department of dance have been given the questionnaire. After their responding, answers judged as insincere ones have been excluded, and there remained finally 190 samples in total. The research instrument of this study is a questionnaire titled "The level of students' satisfaction with their majors in the department of dance." At first, question items have been chosen as appropriate ones for this study from other relevant questionnaires used before and next amended and supplemented through a preliminary examination into each 26 items on the level of importance and on practicality. As statistical approaches for analyzing data, T test and ONE WAY ANOVA have been employed, and the results of investigation on the level ,of students' satisfaction with their majors are as follows; 1. As for the curriculum, most students responded that they were "satisfied" with the level of importance by grades, but in regard to practicality, the level of importance was rather low than the level of satisfaction, and there was little difference between students' recognition. As to the level of importance by majors, students majored in Korean dance, modern dance, and ballet were satisfied with their majors in that order, and as to the recognition of practicality, students majored in modern dance, Korean dance, and ballet responded they were satisfied with their majors in that order. Students' recognition by high schools they graduated from on the level of importance or practicality differed little, and they showed satisfaction in general. 2. In regard to future path in life, the level of importance differed little by grades, but in practicality seniors were not satisfied with their course than juniors. As for students' recognition by majors on the level of importance, students whose major was Korean dance, modern dance, and ballet showed satisfaction in that order, and as to the practicality modern dance, ballet, and Korean dance gave students satisfaction in that order. I can be said that there was little difference between students' recognition by high schools they graduated from on the level of importance and practicality, and all the students showed dissatisfaction with the practicality than with the level of importance. 3. As for the university or society, students' responds about the level of importance were above ordinary level regardless of their grades, majors, and high schools graduated from, but in practicality their opinions were mostly "unsatisfied." 4. As for the environment of university and school evaluation, the level of importance by grades was revealed as satisfactory to both juniors and seniors, while with practicality they showed dissatisfaction. As to students' recognition by majors on the level of importance of this aspect, students majored in modern dance, Korean dance, and ballet were satisfied in that order, while in recognizing the practicality students who majored in Korean dance, ballet, and modern dance were satisfied in that order. The level of importance and of practicality were in between ordinary and satisfactory by high schools students graduated from. 5. As for the level of students' understanding their majors, it was above ordinary level regardless of the grade, major, and high school graduated from, so students were generally satisfied with their majors.
