초등 3학년의 미술 감상 이해도 증진을 위한 미술과와 국어과의 통합적 접근

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 미술 감상 영역과 국어 쓰기 영역의 통합적 접근이 미술 이해도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 하는 것으로, 이를 위해 초등학교 3학년을 대상으로 미술과와 국어과 쓰기 영역의 통합적 접근에 의한 미술 감상 수업을 구안하였다. 연구대상은 인천광역시에 위치한 S초등학교의 3학년 2학급으로 하였으며, 국어과 쓰기 영역과의 통합적 접근에 의한 미술 감상 수업에서는 수업 시간에 배운 미술 용어를 활용한 짧은 글짓기 활동과 작품 속의 주인공이 되어 편지를 쓰는 활동을 하였다. 학생들이 작성한 미술 감상 활동지와 수업 후에 실시한 형성평가 결과를 통해 국어과 쓰기영역과의 통합적 감상수업을 한 실험집단이 전통적인 미술 감상 수업을 한 통제집단과 비교하여 미술 이해도와 미술 작품에 대한 흥미도, 관심도에 있어서 유의미한 차이를 보이는지 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미술과와 국어 쓰기 영역의 통합적 접근에 의한 미술 감상 수업을 한 실험집단과 전통적인 미술 감상 수업을 한 통제집단 간에는 미학적 이해 능력 면에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 특히 보색이라는 단어를 활용하여 글짓기 활동을 실시한 실험집단 아동들은 통제집단 아동들과의 비교에서 보색개념 이해도 면에서 큰 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 미술과와 국어 쓰기 영역의 통합적 접근에 의한 미술 감상 수업을 한 실험집단과 전통적인 미술 감상 수업을 한 통제집단 간에는 미술 비평 능력 면에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 이는 실험집단 학생들이 편지쓰기 활동을 통해 미술 작품에 대한 자신의 생각을 나타내는 기회를 가진 것이 미술 비평 능력에 도움을 준 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 셋째, 미술과와 국어 쓰기 영역의 통합적 접근에 의한 미술 감상 수업을 한 실험집단과 전통적인 미술 감상 수업을 한 통제집단 간에는 미술사적 의미 이해 면에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 작품 속의 주인공이 되어 편지쓰기 활동을 한 실험집단은 미술 작품에 나타난 미술사적 의미 이해 영역에서 통제집단보다 높은 이해도를 보였다. 넷째, 미술과와 국어 쓰기 영역의 통합적 접근에 의한 미술 감상 수업을 한 실험집단과 전통적인 미술 감상 수업을 한 통제집단 간에는 미술 작품에 대한 흥미도 면에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 다섯째, 미술과와 국어 쓰기 영역의 통합적 접근에 의한 미술 감상 수업을 한 실험집단과 전통적인 미술 감상 수업을 한 통제집단 간에는 미술 작품에 대한 관심도 면에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 종합적으로 볼 때, 미술과와 국어 쓰기 영역의 통합적 접근에 의한 미술 감상 수업은 미술 이해도와 미술 작품에 대한 흥미도, 관심도를 증진시키는데 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있다. 이러한 결론은 교육 현장에서 미술과 관련된 교육 활동과 타 교과와의 체계적인 통합적 접근이 실시되면, 미술 개념에 대한 이해를 높일 뿐 아니라 넓은 의미의 인지 발달과 조화로운 아동 발달을 이끌 수 있다는 것을 시사한다. 그러므로 앞으로 미술이 지닌 교육적 가치를 재인식하고 미술의 통합적 접근에 대한 관심과 다양한 프로그램 개발이 이루어져야 하겠다.;The purpose of conducting this project is to observe how an integrated approach of combining art appreciation ability and writing ability in art education affects the understanding level of the art. And to achieve this, we created an art class instructing students to utilize both abilities to enhance the understanding ability of art for 3rd grade elementary students. We conducted a research on two classes of 3rd grades at an elementary school located in Incheon. And during the class, we had the classes to write a short-story using the art terms learned during the lecture and to write letters as if they were the main figures of the art. Through this project, we tested whether the 3rd grades who were lectured using the integrated approach showed noticeable interests and art- appreciation improvements compared to the 3rd grades taught in the general method of teaching art by observing the essays the students wrote and through valuations. The results of this study is as follows: 1) A noticeable enhancement in aesthetic ability was observed from the students who were taught using the integrated approach compared to the students who were taught in the general method. Especially, the students who were advised to use the term "complimentary color" in their essays understood the concept "complimentary color" better than the students who were not. 2) A noticeable enhancement in the critique ability was observed from the students taught using the integrated approach. Hence, we can conclude that the "writing an essay" sessions seemed to have benefited the students in improving the ability to critique the artistic piece. 3) A noticeable enhancement in understanding level of the art history was observed from the students taught using the integrated approach. The students who were instructed to write letters as they were the main figures of the art piece showed a better understanding of the art history than the students in the controlled group 4) A noticeable increase in interests to learn art was observed from the students who were taught using the integrated approach. 5) The students who were taught using the integrated approach tend to show more attention during the class. Thus, they were more focused to learn than the students in the controlled group. In conclusion, an integrated approach of combining art appreciation ability and writing ability in art education positively affects the students to enhance their understanding levels of art and art history. Furthermore, the approach further increases the interests level and attention level in art of the students. Thus, the results clearly implies that not only the integrated approach combining artistic ability and other abilities positively affects the understanding level of art, but also the results further indicate that the integrated approach allows young students to attain balanced developments in the wide range. Therefore, I strongly suggest to revalue the importance of art education and to develop various art-related programs using the integrated approach.
