ICT를 활용한 초등학교 4학년 미술 감상 지도 방법

Abstract

The current society is referred to as a knowledge-based information society in which information communication technology is developed. In this society with such an information overload, ICT application to educate children provides an efficient education medium to orient the education for young children. The objectives of the ICT application in education are to educate children with information communication technology which is required in the 21st century knowledge-based society, to apply the acquired information in learning and daily lives in order to improve problem-solving ability, to educate children to be more active and creative as the future society desires, and to let them enjoy their own lives in the future. In particular, the ICT application in art education provides not only diverse visual information, but also an opportunity for children to reproduce art works efficiently. Consequently, the ICT application in art education helps students to develope their creativity and skills to appreciate art. Moreover, most of students learning art in elementary school will become consumers who enjoy and utilize art. In this respect, the previous art education focusing on the artistic expression should be overcome and transformed into a new art education that enhances understanding of art and aesthetic taste to appreciate it. Thus, further researches and development of the education materials should be actively made in regards to the art appreciation arena. Accordingly, the purpose of this study was to examine the teaching method with ICT application for art appreciation of the 4th graders in elementary school. First, a theoretical background was examined on the art appreciation education and ICT application education. Second, a teaching method with ICT application in classroom was designed more specifically regarding the art appreciation arena for the 4th graders in elementary school. Finally, the effects of the ICT application in art education were examined including the degree of interests, attention, and attitudes of students towards the art appreciation class, and the ability for the art appreciation, in comparison with the previous education of the traditional art appreciation. As a result of this study, it was shown that the ICT application in art class positively elevated the degree of interests, attention, and attitudes towards the art appreciation class for the 4th graders in elementary school. The subjects of this study were the 4th graders who are the middle graders in elementary school, however, the effects of the ICT application should also be analyzed regarding the lower and higher graders in elementary school. Thus, effective and profound studies should be made further on the class application of ICT by using diverse range of themes with a large number of students.;오늘날의 사회는 정보통신기술이 발달한 지식 기반 정보화 사회라고들 한다. 이러한 정보의 바다 속에서 학생들에게 실시해야할 교육은 어떤 방향으로 나아가야 하는가에 대해 ICT (Information & Communication Technology) 활용 교육은 효과적인 교육 매체를 제공한다고 할 수 있다. ICT를 활용한 교육목표는 21세기 지식기반사회에서 필요로 하는 정보통신 기술과 관련한 정보 소양을 기르고 이를 학습 및 일상생활에 적용하여 문제 해결 능력을 신장하며 또한 미래 사회가 요구하는 능동적이고, 장츼적인 인간을 길러 자신의 삶을 영위하도록 하는 데 있다. 특히 미술교과에서 ICT 활용 교육은 많은 시각적 정보를 제공할 뿐만 아니라 미술 작품의 재창조의 도구로도 훌륭히 쓰일 수 있다는 점에서 학생들의 창의성 개발과 감상능력을 향상시키는데 많은 도움을 준다. 또한 초등학교에서 미술교육을 받고 있는 대다수의 학생들은 미술을 즐기고 활용할 수 있는 미술 소비자로서 살아가게 될 것이다. 그러기 위해서는 지금까지의 표현위주의 미술 교육에서 벗어나 미술을 이해하고 미적 안목을 키울 수 있는 미술 감상영역에 대한 연구와 교육자료 개발이 활발히 실시되어야 할 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 ICT를 활용한 초등학교 4학년 미술 감상 지도 방법을 모색하려는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 ICT 활용 개념과 필요성을 살펴보고, ICT 활용 수업의 장점과 문제점, 그리고 ICT 활용 교육의 유형에 대하여 이론적으로 고찰하였다. 또한 초등 미술 감상 교육에서 감상 지도의 의의와 필요성, 제7차 교육과정의 감상 영역 학습, 초등 감상 지도의 원리와 문제점 등에 대하여 알아보았으며, 초등 미술 감상 교육에서의 ICT 활용 수업의 목표와 특성, 교육적 효과, 지도상 유의점과 ICT 활용 방법 등을 살펴보았다. 그리고 연구 방법으로 전통 풍속화 감상 교육에 대한 전통적인 수업 지도안과 ICT 활용 수업 지도안을 구안하였다. 2차시 동안 ‘우리 나라의 전통 풍속화 감상’ 수업을 한 후 감상문을 쓰는 활동을 실시하였다. 통제집단과 실험집단의 감상문을 평가 기준 표에 의해 평가·분석하였다. 또한 본 수업에 대한 흥미도, 관심도, 태도 등을 측정하기 위하여 설문조사를 실시하였으며 수업 후 설문지를 분석하여 그 결과를 비교하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 전통적인 수업을 한 통제집단과 ICT 활용 수업을 한 실험집단 간에는 전통 풍속화 감상 수업에 대한 흥미도, 관심도, 태도, 감상 능력 면에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. ICT 활용 수업에서의 참고 작품 제시에 있어서 멀티미디어자료를 활용과 모둠별로 인터넷에서 풍속화에 대한 정보를 탐색·분석·종합하는 학생 중심의 활동으로 풍속화와 작가에 대한 이해 및 작품의 시대적, 문화적 상황에 대하여 좀 더 자세하게 이해할 수 있는 기회가 되었기 때문이다. 또한 홈페이지 게시판을 활용하여 서로의 의견을 교환하는 상호작용 활동이 활발히 이루어져 나타난 결과라 할 수 있겠다. 둘째, 전통적인 수업을 한 통제집단과 ICT 활용 수업을 한 실험집단 간에는 전통 풍속화 감상 능력 면에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 이는 ICT 활용 수업이 흥미도와 관심도, 태도 등을 더욱 향상시켜 수업의 집중도가 높아진 결과이고 멀티미디어 자료의 사용으로 감상 활동 시 참고작품에 대한 학생의 이해도가 높아졌으며 인터넷을 활용한 정보 탐색·분석·종합 활동으로 풍속화와 작가에 대한 이해 및 작품의 시대적, 문화적 상황에 대하여 좀 더 자세하게 이해할 수 있는 기회가 되었기 때문이다. 이러한 근거로 인하여 ICT를 활용한 미술 감상 지도 방법은 매우 효과적이라고 볼 수 있었다. 따라서 좋은 수업을 위하여 교사는 학습 목표에 알맞은 체계적이고 치밀한 수업 계획에 따른 ICT 자료를 효과적으로 활용해야 하며, ICT 자료의 연구, 개발에도 온갖 노력을 다해야 할 것이다. 본 연구의 대상자는 초등학교 중학년인 4학년 학생을 대상으로 하였으나 초등학교 저학년과 고학년을 대상으로 하여 그 효과를 분석해 볼 필요가 있다. 앞으로 후속 연구에서는 다수의 학생을 대상으로 다양한 주제에 대한 ICT 활용 수업 방법에 대한 연구가 이루어지길 바란다.
