Abstract
Teaching about Holidays Around the World for L2 students in an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom is an attractive way to teach cultural variousness and improve learning L2 language skills. Holidays around the world offer a captivating and interesting theme for educational exploration. This textbook will investigate theme-based learning centered on "Holidays Around the World" and its potential to develop L2 EFL students and teachers. Purpose & Target Learners: Theme-based language learning is an educational practice that revolves around organizing curriculum and pedagogy around a major theme or topic. According to ACTFL, students of INTERMEDIATE MID can handle a variety of uncomplicated communicative learning in straightforward social situations. Age: 7-9 (Universal Age / 2nd Grade to 3rd Grade). This methodology provides a cohesive and integrated method to guide diverse subjects, helping EFL learners make significant connections between various ideas and skills. Furthermore, it also encourages critical thinking as students compare and contrast holidays, identifying common themes and cultural distinctions. Methodology: Especially, Theme-based learning encourages creative expression as students create projects, presentations, and artwork related to holidays. By delving into the traditions, customs, and significance of holidays celebrated in different countries, students embark on a multifaceted learning journey that encompasses history, geography, culture, and empathy. L2 learners have a limited understanding of the Holidays around the World. Through this textbook, children will meet 10 specified holidays with various countries' cultures and traditions. Outcomes: Holidays Around the World may teach learners a wide spectrum of positive consequences. Expected outcomes include academic, cultural, and personal development and the result of theme-based learning as a helpful approach for both learners and teachers. - Learners acquire a more in-depth knowledge of the cultural variousness that lives in the world. - Learners understand and respect diverse cultures, traditions, and the importance of different nations and cultures. - Language ability is enhanced as learners encounter conversations, analysis, and exhibitions linked to holidays. - Acquisition of vocabulary and use of L2 expand as learners study holidays in various languages. - Learners investigate and develop skills in research and collect details regarding holidays from different cultures. - Learners participate in various matters, such as history, geography, and language can be interconnected via a main theme. - Learners understand the significance of appreciating and adopting variousness. - As learners discover and gain about the importance of holidays and their function in increasing balance, passion, and knowledge. - Learners produce patience and broadcast strategies to other cultures and opinions. - Learners encounter problem-solving actions connected to holidays, such as assembling sustainable cultural celebrations. - Students improve their skills in communication through group projects, discussions, and presentations. Conclusion: In conclusion, Holidays Around the World theme-based learning can build a culturally and academically improved learning adventure for learners. Once again, this textbook improves their insight into the world's cultures and traditions and it also promotes skills that are required for success and corresponding holidays around the world.
