청소년소설을 활용한 한국어교육 방안 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 외국인 고급 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 삼아 청소년소설을 활용하여 언어적, 문화적, 문학적 능력을 모두 신장할 수 있는 통합적인 한국어교육 방안을 모색하는 데에 목적을 두었다. 이에 이 연구는 고급 한국어 학습자들의 한국어 능력을 높일 뿐만 아니라 한국 현대 사회 문화와 성장이라는 보편적인 주제를 잘 보여준 청소년소설을 활용하여 보다 새롭고 효율적인 한국어교육 방안을 모색하는 데에 의미가 있다. 한국어교육에서 문학작품의 교육적인 가치는 끊임없이 실증되어 있지만, 한국어로 쓰인 문학작품은 외국인 학습자에게 역시 어려운 제재라고 할 수 있다. 청소년소설은 현대소설로서 어휘와 표현은 고전 작품보다 낯설지 않고 쉽게 이해할 수 있다. 아울러 청소년소설은 청소년집단의 독서력을 고려하여 다른 소설 장르보다 문장이 짧고 구성이 단순하기에 외국인 학습자에게 큰 부담이 되지 않을 것이다. 더불어 청소년소설은 한국 사회의 다양한 양상을 보여주고 나아가 한국인의 일상적인 어휘와 표현을 구현함으로써 학습자들이 소설을 통해 언어를 운용하는 데에 긍정적인 영향을 받고 한국 문화에 대해서도 깊이 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 한국어교육에서 청소년소설을 활용할 만한 가치를 살피기 위해 먼저 청소년소설과 관련한 이론 및 연구를 탐색하였다. 이를 토대로 청소년소설의 개념과 특성을 규명한 후 한국어교육에서의 청소년소설의 효용성을 살폈다. 나아가 외국인 학습자들을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실행하여 청소년소설에 관한 실제 언어 교육 현장의 양상을 고찰한 다음에 한국어교육에서 활용할 만한 청소년소설 작품을 선정함으로써 구체적인 고급 한국어교육 방안을 제시하였다. Ⅰ장은 먼저 본 연구의 연구 목적과 연구의 필요성을 제시한 다음 관련 선행 연구를 고찰하였다. 선행 연구에서 현대소설을 활용한 한국어교육에 관한 연구, 청소년소설에 관한 연구, 청소년소설을 활용한 문학 교육에 관한 연구로 나누어 검토하였다. 그다음에는 본 연구의 대상 및 연구 방법을 서술하였다. Ⅱ장은 청소년소설을 활용한 한국어교육 방안을 개발하기 위해 이론적 전제 및 의의를 고찰하였다. 청소년소설은 2000년대부터 본격적으로 명명되어 청소년소설의 개념과 특성에 관한 논의가 활발하게 이루어지고 있지만, 창작 주체와 수용 주체 등의 요소로 인해 한마디로 청소년소설을 규명하기는 여전히 어렵다. 이에 본 연구는 먼저 관련 논의를 살핌으로써 청소년소설의 개념과 특성을 규명한 후 한국어교육에서 청소년소설이 지니는 교육적 가치를 고찰하였다. 현행 한국어교육 연구에서 청소년소설에 관한 연구는 거의 없는 실정이다. 그러므로 우선 한국어교육에서의 문학 제재의 가치를 고찰하여 현대소설의 교육적 의의를 모색하였다. 이를 토대로 청소년소설의 특성을 결합하여 한국어교육에서 청소년소설이 갖춘 교육적 의의를 도출하였다. Ⅲ장은 청소년소설을 활용하여 구체적인 한국어교육 방안을 개발하기 위해 기초 조사를 시행하여 분석하였다. 우선 효율적이고 학습자들의 능동성을 발휘할 수 있는 교육 방안을 모색하기 위해 고급 한국어 학습자들의 학습 요구 조사를 진행하였다. 학습자들의 청소년소설에 대한 인식, 청소년소설을 활용한 한국어 수업에 대한 요구를 파악함으로써 구체적인 교육 방안 마련을 위한 중요한 근거를 제공하였다. 한국어교육에서는 청소년소설이 활용 가치를 제대로 발휘하지 못했지만 같은 언어를 가르치는 한국 국어교육에서는 청소년소설을 많이 활용하고 있다. 이에 국어교육에서의 청소년소설 활용 양상과 교수·학습 방법을 모색하여 한국어교육에서 활용할 만한 지점을 마련하였다. 마지막으로 한국어교육에서의 청소년소설에 대한 작품 선정 기준을 마련함으로써 국어교과서에 수록된 바 있으며 본 연구의 목적과 알맞은 청소년소설 󰡔완득이󰡕, ｢일가｣를 선정하였다. Ⅳ장은 Ⅲ장의 기초 조사결과를 토대로 청소년소설 󰡔완득이󰡕와 ｢일가｣를 활용하여 구체적인 한국어 교수·학습 방안을 모색하였다. 우선 구체적인 교육 방안을 마련하기 전에 청소년소설을 활용한 한국어교육의 방향 즉, 학습 목표, 학습 내용, 학습 방법 및 모형을 제시하였다. 이로써 구체적인 방안을 개발하는 데에 전반적인 틀을 제공하였다. 또한 본 연구에서는 ‘준비·도입 단계’, ‘이해·감상 단계’, ‘심화·확장 단계’로 나누어 교수·학습을 진행하고자 한다. 본 연구는 한국어교육에서 다양한 학습 제재를 활용하여 학습자들이 능동적이고 효과적으로 문학작품을 통한 통합적인 한국어 능력을 높이는 데에 일조한다는 점에서 긍정적인 의미를 지닌다. 그러나 본 연구는 실제 한국어 수업 현장에서 실시하지 못했기에 실제적인 학습 효과를 검증할 수 없으며 이에 한계를 지닌다. 이에 본 연구를 바탕으로 앞으로 청소년소설을 비롯한 한국어 통합 교육에 있어 보다 다양하고 심도 있는 논의가 활발하게 이루어지길 기대한다.;The purpose of this study is to explore a plan of Korean education for improving the comprehensive ability of Korean language, culture and literature by the usage of teen fictions. Since the young-adult literature is a vivid describtion about social culture and the prevalent topic “grown-up” in modern Korea, it is of great significance to use teen literatures as the tool to search the more novel and effective Korean eduction. The educational value of literature works has been attested in the Korean language education constantly. But it is still difficult for foreign learners to understand it. As one of modern fictions, the lexis of teen fictions is easier and and more familiar to people. Taking the reading ability of the adolescent intio concideration, the setence and article structure of the teen fiction are more succint and simple than other novels, which will not become a heavy burden to the foreign learners. What’s more, sorts of social climate and everyday speech of Korea has been fully presented in the young-adult novels. Scholars who learn Korean by reading teen fictions can grasp the employment of the dialogue that written in the novels as well as deepen the understanding of the Korean culture. To seek the application value of teen fictions in Korean language education, this study has probed into relevent thoeries and researches of adolescent novels first. And to identify the concept and features of teen fictions as well as analyze the role they played in the Korean language education. Then a questionaire survey was conducted with foreign scholars as the target to study the real language education scene’s learning requirements for the youngsters, and sort teen fictions that can be appied in Korean language education. So as to formulate a specific scheme of advanced Korean language education. Chapter I expands on the research purpose and necessity of this article, and then analyze the literature review. In the literature review, three aspects including Korean education research using modern novels, research on youth novels, and literary education research using youth novels are analyzed. Finally, the object and method of this research are summeried. Chapter Ⅱ is to make better use of the theoretical background analysis of youth novels in Korean language education programs. The teenage novels has got its official name around 2000. During this period, the concepts and characteristics of teenage novels become a heat debate. However, it is hard to define teenage novels in one sentence due to many factors such as authors and audiences. So this research has explained the concepts and features of youth novels through relavent research, and then explored the educational value of young-adult novels in Korean language education. At present, there is very little research about teen fictions in Korean language education research. Therefore, this research has probed the value of literary themes in Korean education and the educational significance of modern novels first and explored the educational value of youth novels in Korean language education based on the features of youth novels. Chapter III is a reasearch conducted to formulate a specific plan of Korean language educaton. Firstly, a survey about the learning needs of advanced Korean learners has been condcted to find an efficient educantion scheme that give full paly to learners’ subjective initiatives. The language learners' understanding of youth novels and the requirements for learning youth novels in Korean teaching provides an important basis for the formulation of specific teaching programs. Although the value of teen fictions has not been well brought into play in Korean language education, it has been widely used in Korean language education which teaching the same kind of language. To this end, this research has explored the application mode and teaching method of youth novels in Korean education and provided an effective reference for the application of Korean language education. Finally, a criteria for teen fictions selection in Korean language education has been created. Chapter IV draws up a specific study plan based on the analysis results of the young people's novels “punch” and “One Family” in Chapter 3. Before proposing a specific education plan, it first formulated the direction of Korean language education using youth novels, that is, learning objectives, learning content, learning methods and models. The research has been divided into “preparation and introduction”, “understanding and appreciation” and “deepening and expansion” three teaching stages to learn adolescent novels. This research uses a variety of learning themes in Korean language education, which has positive effect in helping students improve their comprehensive Korean language skills through literary works. However, this study has not been implemented in the real Korean teaching practice, so the actual learning effect cannot be verified. It is hope that more diverse and in-depth discussions, which based on this research, in the field of Korean comprehensive education on youth novels can be carried out.
