Business English with General English and Business Idioms

Abstract

Having an appropriate and a good command of English is vital for effective communication in business. Furthermore, every business starts not only with business itself but with small talk for building positive relationships. In this sense, there is a strong need to design a textbook which helps new employees to learn Business English which also focuses on general conversations and understanding culture and idioms. The target learners will mainly be newly hired employees at Samsung whose ages from mid-20's to 30's and they are supposed to work with foreign co-workers in English. the aim of this portfolio is to equip new employees with more authentic and appropriate business communication skills in English. Plus, this aims to improve learners' listening, speaking skills in business English through general English, business idioms and different cultures. Basically, this portfolio uses the methodology of ESP, EBP along with Communicative Language Teaching.
