Abstract
Gyeongbokgung, the Korean royal palace, has a significant amount of potential in terms of allowing identity design projects to be performed. Korean identity and pride cannot be preserved through the simple restoration of Gyeongbokgung alone. For the benefit of current and future generations, it is important to maintain more creative and interactive methods of preservation, rather than being content with just the simple preservation of history. My research project aims to visualize the identity of Gyeongbokgung based on the historical and architectural meaning of its roof structure. The identity design of Gyeongbokgung is produced as a dynamically changing logo that features a unique concept that allows the contemporary reinterpretation of the flow of time. © 2017 International Information Institute.
