미술과 자유학기제 진로동아리 활동이 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향

Abstract

진로교육의 중요성이 대두되면서 중학교에서는 2016년부터 한 학기 동안 자신의 진로에 대해 고민해 보고 탐색해 볼 수 있는 자유학기제가 전면 실시되고 있다. 이는 진로와 관련하여 직업 체험, 실습수업, 각종 예술과 동아리 활동 등의 경험들을 통해 보다 활발하고 다양한 직업 체험에 참여할 수 있도록 장려하고 있으며, 나아가 올해부터 일부 희망하는 학교에서 자유학년제를 실시하여 한 학기에서 1년 단위로 시수를 늘려 운영을 확대하고 있다. 학생들은 1년 동안 시험을 치르지 않고 토론, 실습 등 다양한 체험을 하면서 진로를 탐색할 수 있게 된다. 따라서 앞으로 이를 지속 운영할 수 있는 방안에 대해 다양한 프로그램 설계와 연구가 필요하다. 본 프로그램은 다양한 분야에서 자신의 꿈과 끼를 찾을 수 있는 활동이 될 수 있도록 학생들의 흥미와 관심사를 반영하여 프로그램을 고안하여 미술과를 중심으로 한 자유학기제 동아리 활동이 중학교 1학년 학생들의 진로성숙도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이에 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위한 방법은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자유학기제의 취지와 편성 운영을 검토하여 자유학기제 안에서 동아리 활동이 어떻게 이루어지고 있는지 살펴본 후, 진로교육의 개념과 여러 학자들의 의견을 바탕으로 진로교육의 중요성과 이에 중학교 미술교과에서 진로교육이 왜 필요한지 고찰하였다. 둘째, 경기도 소재의 중·고등학생을 대상으로 미술과 관련한 직업 흥미 여부를 설문결과를 통해 자유학기제 동아리 활동 프로그램을 설계하였으며, 설문지의 직업 선별 기준은 KSCO(한국 표준 직업 분류)에서 제시하고 있는 예술 전문가 및 관련직을 바탕으로 제작하였다. 셋째, 경기도 소재의 H중학교 1학년 26명에게 총 8차시의 프로그램을 적용하였다. 그리고 미술과 중심의 자유학기제 동아리 활동이 중학 교 1학년 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 한국직업능력개발원에서 개발한 중·고등학생용 진로성숙도 검사를 사용하여 사전·사후의 진로성숙도 변화를 측정하였다. 본 연구의 사전·사후 검사 결과를 분석한 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 진로성숙도의 사전조사에 대한 내적 일관성 검사로 Cronbach's α 계수를 구하였다. 둘째, 수집된 자료는 SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Science) Ver 21.0 통계 패키지 프로그램을 사용하여 전산통계 처리하였고, 빈도 분석, 신뢰도 분석, 대등 표본 t-test를 실시하였으며, 유의 수준은 p<.05, p<.01, p<.001에서 검증하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구에 참여한 실험집단의 검사 결과는 진로성숙도 전체와 하위영역이 모두 유의미한 결과를 도출하였으며, 미술과 중심의 자유학기제 동아리 활동이 중학교 1학년 학생들의 진로성숙도에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것이 검증되었다. 이에 본 연구는 다음과 같은 의의를 지닌다. 첫째, 학생의 꿈이 아닌 입시에 초점을 맞춰 진로교육을 하고 있는 현재의 학교 미술교육의 한계점을 보완하고자 학생들이 자신의 진로 방향을 다각도로 바라볼 수 있도록 각 분야별 직업탐색이 가능한 프로그램을 모색하였다. 즉, 미술과 관련한 다양한 직업들에 대해 단면적으로 바라보려 하지 않았으며, 미술이 우리 생활과 얼마나 밀접하게 관련이 되어 있고 실생활에서 다양하게 활용되고 있는지 삶과 연계하여 살펴보고자 하였다. 둘째, 학생들이 관심 분야에 대한 흥미를 발견하고 이를 다양한 분야에서 자신의 진로와 관련을 지어보는 체험활동을 해봄으로써 진로성숙도에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있도록 장려하였다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 미술과를 중심으로 한 자유학기제 진로 동아리 활동이 변화하는 직업세계에 능동적으로 대처할 수 있는 프로그램으로서의 충분한 방안이 되길 기대한다.;As the importance of career education has constantly emerged, a free semester in the middle school that enables students to spend enough time deliberating and exploring their own career for one semester has been implemented starting from 2016. Students are encouraged to participate in more vigorous and diverse career experiences by engaging in activities such as career experience, practical classes, various arts and club activities, Furthermore, from this year, the number of courses has increased from one semester to one year to expand its operations. Students will be able to explore the course while engaging in a variety of experiences such as discussion, practice without taking the test for one year. Therefore, a variety of program design and research are required to plan how the program can constantly operate. The study aims to investigate how free-semester club activities centering on arts which is designed to help students discover their interests and potential in various fields has an impact on the career maturity for the first grade students in the middle school. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, first, after reviewing the purpose of the free school term and the operation of the curriculum, and how the club activities are carried out in the free school term, then based on the concept of career education and opinions of various scholars it investigated the rationale for why career education is needed for art class in middle school. Second, the free-semester club activity program was designed through the questionnaire survey on the interest in the career related to the arts in the middle and high school students in Gyeonggi Province. The job selection criteria of the questionnaire were based on art experts and associates. suggested by KSCO (Korean Standard Classification of Occupations)'. Third, a total of 8 courses of programs were applied to 26 students of the first grade in H middle school located in Gyeonggi-do. In order to investigate the effect of free-semester club activities centering on arts on the career maturity level of the first grade students in middle school, the study measured the change of career maturity of both pre- and post-career applying the career maturity test for middle and high school students. The results of the pre- and post-test of this study are as follows. First, Cronbach's α coefficient was calculated by internal consistency test for career maturity pre-survey. Second, the collected data were statistically analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) Ver. 21.0 statistical package program, and frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and comparative sample t-test were conducted as well. The significance level was verified as p <.05, p <.01, p <.001. In conclusion, the test results of the experimental group participated in the study showed that both the career maturity level and the sub-domain had meaningful results. And it has been verified that the arts-centered free-semester club activities have a positive effect on the career maturity of the first-year middle school students. Therefore, the study has the following significance. First, in order to complement the limitations of the current school art education, which merely focuses on admission to university rather than students' dreams or interests, the study searched for programs that enable students to figure out their jobs in various fields so that they can envision their career directions in a variety of ways. In other words, the study would not superficially look at various occupations related to art, but tried to identify how art can be closely related to our life and how it is being used in real life. Second, the program intented to encourage students to gain a positive impact on career maturity by discovering their own interest in the field and conducting experiential activities in relation to their career in various fields. Therefore, this study is expected to be a sufficient alternative as a program that can actively cope with the rapidly changing world through free-semester career club activities centered on arts.
