Abstract

[Introduction] Purpose : To create a textbook that helps young learners to learn English by learning about the ocean and marine animals Rationale: Young children will learn the language effectively by engaging in the meaningful activities that interest them in real life rather than being taught the language itself. Target learners: mixed gender, children aged 10 to 11 Proficiency: Intermediate Mid-Intermediate High (ACTFL) Learning Context : After-School Program/ Private Language Institute [Method] CBI/TBLT [Expected Outcomes] Learners will develop a positive attitude toward the target language acquisition. Learners will increase the target language proficiency by learning content words and target vocabulary in each unit. Learners will learn to appropriately interact in the target language with the teacher and classmates. Learners will be exposed to the plenty of the content input as well as the language input and will gradually develop the target language proficiency.
