Abstract
The study was to explore the characteristics of and promoting ways for communication shown in good EFL teaching in Korea. Five types of communication were found: (1) one of a teacher to all students; (2) one of a teacher to one speaker with listeners and bystanders; (3) uniformed one among students; (4) a free one by individual student; and (5) one of a teacher to students using IT materials. The patterns of the communication were the lessons were mostly teacher-focused, however, they became more student-focused as the lessons went on. The promoting ways for communication were: customized lesson to students, minimization of anxiety, and evoking student's active participation. © 2014 International Information Institute.
