실외 놀이터 유형에 따른 유아의 놀이형태

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of playground types on the play behaviors of children. To achieve this purpose, the specific questions have been set up in this study as follows: 1. What are the play behaviors of children in the creative and traditional playground? a) Are there any significant differences in the cognitive play aspects of play in each playground? b) Are there any significant differences in the social play aspects of play in each playground? c) Are there any significant differences in social and cognitive play aspects of play in each playground? d) Are there any significant differences in non-play aspects of play in each playground? e) Are there any significant differences in other play aspects of play in each playground? The two playgrounds used in the study were on kindergarten in Seoul. The subject included 40 children 5 to 6 years from each kindergarten. The coding from used for data collection was developed by Frost(1992) utilizing the Rubin(l978) Smilansky- Parten matrix. Each child was observed three times during a free play period on day for a total of three weeks. The analyzing methods of datum were mean, standard deviation, frequency, percentage, t- test. The results of the study are summerized as follows: 1. There were significant differennces in the frequency of cognitive categories. Funcitional play and dramatic play were significantly higher on the creative than on the traditional playground. There was significantly more (constructive play observed on the traditional playground. Games-with-rules play was not occurred significantly difference between creative and traditional playground. 2. There were significant differences in the frequency of social play categories. Cooperative play was significantly occurred on the creative playground. There were not significant differences in the solitary play, parallel play and associative play between creative and traditional playground. 3. There were significant differences in the fi-equency of social cognitive play categories. Solitary-functional play and group- dramatic play were significantly occurred on the creative playground. Parallel-constructive play and solitary-constructive play were significantly occurred on the traditional playground. 4. There were significant differences in the frequency of non-play categories. Unoccupied behavior and onlooker behavior were significantly occurred on the traditional playground. Transition and Aggression behavior were not significantly occurred on the creative and traditional playground. 5. There were not significant differences in other play behavior between creative and traditional playground.;본 연구의 목적은 전통적 유형의 놀이터와 창의적 유형의 놀이터에서 유아의 놀이형태에 차이가 있는지를 살펴보는 것이다. 이와 같은 연구 목적에 따라 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다. 1. 실외 놀이터 유형에 따라 유아들간에는 인지적 놀이형태의 차이가 있는가? 2, 실외 놀이터 유형에 따라 유아들간에는 사회적 놀이형태의 차이가 있는가? 3. 실외 놀이터 유형에 따라 유아들간에는 사회 인지적 놀이형태의 차이가 있는가? 4. 실외 놀이터 유형에 따라 유아들간에는 비놀이 행동에 차이가 있는가? 5. 실외 놀이터 유형에 따라 유아들간에는 기타 놀이행동에 차이가 있는가? 본 연구의 대상은 서울시 강동에 소재하고 있는 유치원 중 전통적 유형의 놀이터가 있는 유치원과 창의적 유형의 놀이터가 있는 유치원의 유아 40명이다. 연구도구는 Frost(1992)가 제작한 실외놀이 관찰을 위한 관찰지를 예비연구를 거쳐 수정된 것이다. 수집된 자료들의 분석은 SPSS 프로그램을 이용하여 평균, 표준편차, 빈도, 백분율, 두 독립표본 t검증을 구하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 실외 놀이터 유형에 따른 인지적 놀이형태에 의미있게 차이가 나타났다. 기능놀이와 상징놀이는 창의적 놀이터의 유아들에게서 많이 나타난 반면 구성 놀이는 전통적 놀이터의 유아들에게서 많이 나타났다. 규칙있는 게임은 유형에 따른 의미있는 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 2. 실외 놀이터 유형에 따른 사회적 놀이형태에서 의미있는 차이가 나타났다. 협동놀이는 창의적 놀이터의 유아들에게서 많이 나타났고 혼자놀이와 병행놀이, 연합놀이는 두 유형간에 의미있는 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 3. 실외 놀이터의 유형에 따른 사회 인지적 놀이형태에 의미있는 차이가 나타났다. 창의적 놀이터의 유아들에서 혼자기능놀이와 집단상자놀이가 많이 나타난 반면 전통적 놀이터의 유아들에게서는 혼자구성놀이와 병행구성놀이가 의미있게 많이 나타났다. 4. 실외 놀이터의 유형에 따라 비놀이 행동에 의미있는 차이가 나타났다. 전통적 놀이터의 유아들에게서 비참여 행동과 방관자적 행동이 많이 나타난 반면 전이 행동과 공격적 행동에서는 유형에 따른 의미있는 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 5. 실외 놀이터의 유형에 따라 기타 놀이행동에 의미있는 차이가 있었다. 즉 탐구행동, 담화, 거친 씨름놀이, ?기게임에서 유형에 따른 의미있는 차이가 나타나지 않았다.
