한국 불교유치원에 관한 연구

Abstract

한국 유아교육 80년사에서 불교유치원은 초창기부터 일면을 담당해 왔음에도 불교유치원이나 불교유치원의 활동에 관한 연구는 이루어지지 않았다. 본 연구의 목적은 불교유치원의 초창기부터 현대에 이르기까지를 조명하는데 있다. 이러한 연구목적에 따른 연구내용은 다음과 같다. 1. 불교유치원 교육의 특성 2. 불교유치원의 성립과 교육실제 3. 불교유치원의 현황 이상과 같은 연구내용과 범위에 따라 문헌 연구, 면담, 현장답사를 통한 자료수집의 방법을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 불교유치원은 유치원사의 위치와 환경, 설립과 운영에 있어 寺刹의 참여, 교사임용과 교사연수, 교육목적·내용·행사 등에 있어 불교적 요인의 반영이라는 특징을 지니고 있다. 2. 불교유치원은 1920-30년대 한국에서 전개되었던 교육구국주의 유치원운동이라는 전반적인 흐름과 동시에 당시 한국에서 도입·전개되었던 독특한 아동중심주의라는 이론에 근거하여 성립되었다. 성립 이후 불교유치원교육은 4차례의 유치원 교육과정령에 따라 교육체제와 내용이 변화하였는데, 특히 1982년의 유아교육진흥법은 불교계 유아교육기관의 성장과 전문화에 큰 영향을 끼쳤다. 3. 현재 불교유치원은 양적 증가와 더불어 보다 체계적인 운영에 대한 필요성을 인식하고 1981년 전국 불교유아교육 협회 설립과 교사연수,1991년 한국 불교유아교육 연구원 조직, 방학책 발간 등을 점차척으로 시도하고 있다.;Throughout eighty years of Korean kindergarten history, the Buddhist Kindergarten has played an important role in developing early childhood education. However the origins, unique characters, activities, and the present states have not clarified. The purpose of this study is to illustrate the Buddhist Kindergarten from the beginning up to the present. The contents of this study are as follows : 1. The unique characters of the Buddhist Kindergarten 2. The realization of the Buddhist Kindergarten and its practical education 3. The present activities in the Buddhist Kindergarten To answer these questions, this study employed the method of reviewing the related literatures, materials obtained by field study and interviews. The results can be summarized as follows : 1. Buddhist Kindergartens have several unique characters in the following areas. The building's locations and surroundings : Participation of a buddhist temple in the foundation and management of the kindergarten : Teacher employment and in-service training : and the reflection of the buddhist character in educational purpose - contents or activities-strategies. 2. The Buddhist kindergarten was formed under the influence of "Kindergarten as the save the nation Korea movement" in between 1920-1930. Simultaneously based on unique theory as "Child-centered", play and activities compose theoretical backgrounds and basic principles, from the beginning. The 4-times amendments in the Kindergarten Curriculum had brought about the changes of contents of Buddhist kindergartens. Especially "Early Education promotion comprehensive plan" influenced on the growth, and speciality of Buddhist Early childhood Education. 3. Buddhist kindergartens have understanding of more systematic management of Buddhism than the regular ones. So they gradually make an attempt.
