dc.description.abstractThe cityport of Pusan has rapidly developed since the openning of the port toward the Japan, with the economic growth the Pusan city has played important role in the foreign trade as a terminal and gate of the countries, with the lingkage system of the traffic between Pusan and outer area has to be expanded and to be broadened. But the road and railroad have not been changed and thus the traffic congenction in the city degraded more and more. That is why the transport cost from Pusan to outer area has gone up. The economic loss result from the traffic congestion has rised up. This attempts to study the development of port of the Pusan and to anayze the traffic flows system of the goods, particularly domestic exchange and foreign trade goods from Pusan to other area and vice versa. The data has collected from the Pusan city office, Korea Maritime Institute, Pusan branch of harbor control boards and Pusan branch of the trade TAX boards. For the study the data of the development of the Pusan city has been historically analyzed. The data for the traffic flows systems has been ststistically approached with the aids the computer technipues, the flow pattern of the goods between cityport of the Pusan and other area. That is, the charateristics of the movement of the goods has been analyzed by the O/D analysis. The result may be summarized as follows. The development of the city is related to the location of the city itself and to the historical background of the city, in Yi Dynasty. The center of the Pusan was Tongrae which located far 10km from the Pusan and with the increase of the trade with the Japan the city center moved to the Oegwan which is far 15km from the Pusan, since 1876 the city center moved to the present site. During the Japanese rule the first harbor dock was constructed in 11912 with the ease access due to the construction of the dock the Pusan port used as a military port and import of the foreign aids goods from the countries who participated in the united nation. During the Korean War with the successful economic development planning the Pusan port has to be expanded and the Pusan port export 20% of the Korea export goods which consists of textiles, shoes, and luber related goods in 1970. The Pusan port control 95% of the containers goods in Korea in 1990 65% of the Korean exports good which move to the North America 25% of the goods move to the Asia and 3% to the Europe. 12% of the corn and wheets import through the Pusan port, which consume in Pusan and around area. 25% of the metal and machineries import through the Pusan, 1/3 of which distributed to the metropolitan area. 60% of the lumber and related raw materials imported through the Pusan port, most of which consumed in the Pusan area, and 60% of the containers import through the Pusan, and 70% of the exported containers distribute to the countries by automobile. Exported goods from the Pusan are electric equipmint, testiles, oil and related goods. Metal and related goods. With the rapid increase of the goods movement due to the economic growth Pusan port cannat deal with the trade goods. it takes about 15 days to proceed the exported good and 7 days to proceed the imported through the Pusan. Pusan has no highway to connect directly to the country side, which endarers the future of the Pusan port.-
