Keats의 odes에 관한 연구

Abstract

自然속에서 참된 美를 추구하는 人間의 靈魂을 把握하려 했으며 超自然의 世界에 대한 명상을 보여 주었던 19世紀 浪漫派 詩人들 中에서 Keats는 最高의 藝術을 남겨준 詩人이다. Wordsworth가 詩 속에서 道德을 주장했고 Shelley는 實現 가능성이 없는 想像의 世界를 꿈꾸며 ""Intellctual Beauty""를 讚揚하였지만 Keats의 詩의 世界는 주로 이 땅위에 속한 것이었다. 그는 試作에서 思想보다는 感覺이나 直觀을 더 重視해서 ""詩는 마치 나뭇잎새가 나무에 돋아나듯이 그렇게 自然스럽게 나와야 한다""고 믿고 있었기 때문에 直感과 想像力으로 美를 추구했고, ""이 세상에 존재하는 모든 것의 美를 사랑하노라""고 말하여 그의 美에 대한 熱情과 洞察力을 짐작하게 한다. Keats가 말하는 美는 抽象的 또는 理想的 完璧에 導入 沒入하기 위하여 生을 등지는 것이 아니라 인내와 끈기로 生을 받아들이는 現實的 美이다. 그것은 視覺的이거나 想像的인 安易한 美만이 아니며 바로 人間의 生에 대한 理解의 상징이요 敎訓으로 전달된다. 本 論文 이러한 Keats의 美思想과 感覺美를 그의 Odes를 통해 검토 및 分析해 봄으로써 그의 詩를 이해하는데 도움을 얻고자 한다.;Keats' Odes, written in the spring of 1819, may be bound together by the similar branches of thoughts and feelings which show the poet's attitude toward life. Through his Odes 'Beauty' appears in the various forms. While there is a beauty which dwells with sorrow because it is temporal, there is another kind which is immortal. The latter is Keats' ideal beauty and the poet was trying to find out it in the songs of Nightingale and on the Grecian Urn. However, in his ode, ""To Autumn"", his ardent pursuit for the Ideal is subdued. He can now find the eternity of the beauty in the present world and says, ""I have lov'd the principle of beauty in all things"". On the whole, Keats' poetry conforms to the ideas about the poetic principles that he expresses in his letters. His thought is pridominently effected by the degree of sensation, an intensity of what his sensibility experienced. These Odes contain the richness and vitality of the poet's deep sensuousness, and at the same time, they reveal the complexities of the poet's philosophy to realize disparity felt between pleasure and pain, life and death that are inseparable. The purpose of the study of this thesis is to study the ideal beauty of Keats expressed in his Odes, and to understand the richness of his sensation.
