原始舞踊의 社會性에 관한 硏究

Abstract

본 논문의 주요목표는 예술의 쟝르로써 무용이 본질적으로 표현해 오고 있는 사회성의 의미를 분석하는 것이다. 이것은 모든 예술이 공통적으로 지니고 있는 본질이 예술이 속한 사회의 객관적 진실이나 현실의 모습들을 반영해 왔다는 점에 있다는 것을 전제로 하고, 사회와의 관계속에서 사회를 구성하는 제반요소들에 무용이 미치고 있는 영향과 그와같은 관계속에서 무용이 차지하는 중요성을 파악하기 위해 시도되었다. 이 목적을 위해서 본 논문은 연구의 영역을 '원시무용'으로 한정하였다. 왜냐하면 원시무용의 발생은 그것이 인간에게 주는 美的인 즐거움이나, 다른 여타의 목적이 아닌, 인간의 생존에 절대적인 수단으로 작용하는 실용성에서 비롯되었기 때문이다. 또한 이와 관련해서, '사회성'이란 개념의 용어를 사회학에서 차용하였는데, '사회성'의 개념은 인간이 다른 인간과 또 자신을 둘러싸고 있는 주변의 환경과 관계를 맺으며 살아갈 수 있는 능력이다는 의미로 그 개념을 한정해서 사용하였다. 그러므로 오늘날 무용이 보여주고 있는 무한한 형식과 이의 필요성에 관한 다양한 해석에도 불구하고 무용이 그 목적으로 지녀야 할 '사회성'의 개념은 무용의 본질적인 측면으로 중요한 의미를 갖고 있으며 또한 무용의 발생학적인 단계에 머무르고 있던 원시무용은 그 자체가 실용성을 지닌 그 시대 사회구성원들의 사회성의 수단이었다는 것을 파악할 수 있었다. 그리고나서 원시무용이 사회와의 연관속에서 구체적으로 어떠한 사회성의 의미를 내포하고 있는지를 알아보기 위해서, 역사학이나 고고학의 분야에 기록되어 있는 원시무용에 관한 문헌이, 현존하는 미개민족들의 춤을 기록한 문헌에 묘사된 원시무용의 유형을, 주제와 내용면으로 그리고 표현양식으로 양분하였다. 그리고 수많은 유형으로 표현되어진 원시무용의 주제와 내용을, 종교, 경제, 사회관습적인 영역으로 나누고 이에 나타난 사회성의 의미를 찾아 보았다. 또한 사회성의 의미를 내포하고 있는 원시무용의 표현양식을, 상징성, 원형성, 집단성으로 그 특징을 추출하였고, 이에따른 사회성의 의미를 살펴 보았다. 마지막으로, 이상과 같은 연구의 결과로 다양한 형식으로 표현되고 있는 현대의 수많은 무용이 갖고 있어야 하는 본질의 탐구는 '사회성의 수단'으로 존재했던 원시무용에서 비롯되어야 한다는 것을 제시하였고, 이로인해서 무용이 본질적으로 지니고 있어야 하는 '사회성'의 의미에 관해 현대의 무용의 새로운 방향성을 모색하는 계기가 되었으면 하는 것이다.;The main purpose of this treatise is to analyze the meaning of sociality that has been expressed essentially by been expressed essentially by dance as one genre of art. In all the essence of art there is the mirror image of the objective truth and the general feature of the society that the art belonged. Under above mentioned viewpoint, the importance of the relation of dance, society and all the other factors that constitutes the society has been investigated. In this treatise the domain of investigation was limited to primitive dances because of that the origins of dances are not merely an aesthetical pleasure or any other purposes but the practicality as an absolute method of living. The idea of sociality was borrowed from sociology. This idea of sociality is used only as a limited meaning that the sociality is the capability of man who can continue his living in relation with other men and his environment. So in contemporary era, as though there are many varieties of dances and the interpretions of it's necessities, the sociality as an essence and purpose of dance has Important meaning. In primitive dances which are in embryonic states there can be found the real practicality and that practicality is the means of sociality of that society. After that to investigate and to understand the concrete meaning of sociality of primitive dances, the patterns of primitive dances which can be found in the historical, archeological and anthropological studios were divided into two categories, one as their subjects and contents, the other as their mode of expressions. And in 1st category many primitive dances are divided into 3 subgroups of religious, economical and social customary and at each subgroups the moaning of sociality were investigated. In 2nd category the mode of expression divided under the characteristics of symbolic, circle making, group making properties and also investigated the meanings of sociality at each subgroup. As a conclusion the point of view that the investigation of essence of various modern dances today must be started from the study of primitiye dances which have been existed as a manifestation of sociality was stressed and presented. And as above mentioned this treatise will find it's significance at the role of presenting one example of the investigative method for modern dances and it's concocting sociality.
