현대한국창작춤의 정착에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 현대한국창작춤의 발생 과 그 발달과정 을 통해서 나타난 특징적인 이념적 목표와 춤 실천방법 들을 살펴 봄으로써 현대 한국 창작춤이 라는 독특한 개념의 특성을 뚜렷한 춤미학적 근거 위에서 보다 신뢰 있는 개념의 정립과 또 그 위치를 명료히 하고자 하는 의 도에서 시작되었다. 1970년대 중반이후부터 1980년대 후반에 이르기까지 현대한국창작춤의 급격한 양적, 질적 성장은 현대적 성격을 지닌 새로운 춤 운동이라는 특유한 의미를 부여함으로써 독자적인 예술춤으로서의 면모를 갖추는데 주력해 옮과 동시에 춤 장르에 대한 보다 전문적인 개념규정 을 재촉하는 의식적인 문제에서부터 복잡다양한 춤 활동들이 전개 되어온 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서 논의 되어지는 현대한국창작춤의 전반적인 춤 현상속에서 표명된 춤미학적 성격과 사상들을 현대한국창작춤의 새로운 전향을 가능케 한 본질적인 요소로 파악하고자 한다. 그리하여 그것의 독특한 특성 을 밝혀 주는데 있어 기본개념으로 받아들여 현 대 한국창작춤의 독특한 춤 미학적 과제를 체계적으로 수립하고 또한, 명확한 개념 정착을 위한 첫 단계로 삼고자 한다. 이것은 현대한국창작춤의 발생론적 특수성에 대한 여러 가지 논의와 그 발전과정 속에서 연구되어진 특성 들이 현대한국창작춤의 좌표를 파악하는데 있어 성숙한 여건이 주어 졌음을 확신하고 보다 포괄적인 춤 논리 체계위에서 철저한 자기규정을 꾀하고 나아가 현대한국창작춤의 독자성과 자율성이 확보되어져야 한다는 연구의 목적에 도달하고자 한다. 그러면, 이상과 같은 본 논문의 연구목적과 내용에 대한 구체적인 논의 순서를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 제I장 머리말에 이어 제Ⅱ장에서는 우리 한국춤의 주류를 형성해 온 신무용과 현대한국창작춤의 관계와 그 발생에 의한 용어가 정착되어 가게된 역사적 계기를 살펴보고자 하였다. 제Ⅲ장에서는 현대한국창작춤의 개념 정착을 위한 춤미학의 특성을 분석 하고자 하였다. 먼저 연대별 현대한국창작춤의 유형별 특성을 살펴봄으로써 현대한국창작춤이 이 땅의 우리에게 어떠한 의미로 발전해 왔는지를 자세하게 다루어 보고자 하였다. 신무용과의 과도기적 시기에 걸쳐 있는 1960년대에서부터 1970년대 중반이후를 기점으로하여 전통을 기반으로 한 재창조, 현대적 재인식을 추구하는 현대한국창작춤이 그 어느때 보다 춤의 급성장을 보인 1980년 대 후반까지의 특징 들을 언급하고자 한다. 이어 현대한국창작춤의 독특한 춤미학적 과제들을 체계적으로 수립하고 정착시키기 위한 기본 개념 들을 네가지로 구분하여 그것의 특징적인 신념들을 분석해 보았다. 마지막 제Ⅳ장 맺음말에서는 본 연구의 내 용들을 종합하고 현대한국창작춤이라는 여러 가지 조건들을 충족시켜 줄 수 있는 올바른 개념 규정 과 또 독자적인 춤장르 확보를 위한 연구 과제들을 생각해 보고자 하였다.;The purpose of the present study is to investigate the unique philosophy and the methodology of the Modem Korean creative dance suggested by its conception and the course of progression, thereby estabilishing a definitive rationale and a role of the modern Korean art dance as an unique Korean art form based on the viewpoint of dance estheteology. The period between the mid-70's to the late 80's saw a marked quantitative as well as qualitative growth of the Modern Korean creative dance, and its significance may lie in a new complex dance movement attemting to instill modem characters, thereby heightening itsartisticity, and bringing up the need for a more professional and structuralized organization required for its recognition as a dance genre. The present study recognized the esthetic characteristics and philosophy of the Modem Korean creative dance as the basic ingridients which made its transformation possible. Furthemore, these characteristics and philosophy will be used to estabilish more definitive goals and systematic concept. There has been controversies and discussion on the uniqueness of the Modern Korean creative dance, and the results has made the right environment for the future direction to be decided. While this process would require a fair amount of self-critisism, it is essential that the uniqueness and the self-reliance of this dance form should be preserved. With that purpose and context, the discussion will be made with the following order. Following the introduction in Chapter Ⅰ, Chapter Ⅱ introduces the relationship between the Modern Korean creative dance and the New dance, with the look at the history of the estabilishment of the parallel terms in the two dances. In Chapter Ⅲ, the esthetic characteristics of the Modem Korean creative dance will be analyzed by first reviewing the hitorical development of the dance for each period since its conception, and then discussing the significant of the development to Korean people. Starting from the transitional period from 1960's to the mid-1970's through the marked growth in the 1980's with the rebirth of the tradition and the modern redefinition in the Modern Korean creative dance. The basic concepts for the systematic estebilishment of important agenda of the modem Korean art dance would be presented in four topics, with a discussion for each one. In Chapter Ⅳ, the presented discussions will be summerized in the definitive concepts and agenda.
