전통춤의 한국적 미의식 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 처용무가 지닌 미적내용과 그것을 창조해 잴 수 있었던 미의식을 밝혀 냄으로서 우리 민족의 정서가 담긴 한국적인 것이 무어인지에 대해 접근해 본 것이다. 이를 위해 우선 문헌을 중심으로 하여 처용무의 기원 및 역사적 변천에 따른 처용무의 전승내용을 살펴보았으며 이를 토대로 처용무를 무용해석학적으로 접근하고 그리고는 미적유형의 측면, 미적세계관의 측면, 미적형식의 측면으로 나누어 처용무에 나타난 한국적 미의식을 고찰해 보았다. 『처용무는 주술적인 행위였던 '처용굿'에서 출발하여 신라궁정의 비극적 연행물인 처용가무극으로 발전되고 고려와 조선조를 거치면서 연희무인 오방처용무와 '학연화대 처용무 합설'의 종합무극형태로 변화하였다. 이러한 변천과정을 거치면서 드디어 현전 처용무는 음양오행사상에 입각한 춤사위와 방위를 고스란히 보여주고 있으며 상극·상생원리에 의해 조화·통일의 미적형식으로 굳어졌다. 본디 처용굿이나 처용극은 갈등구조를 지녔는데 이는 위기를 딛고 일어서서 새로운 질서와 안정을 회복코자 하는 미적내용을 이루었던 것이었으나 오방처용무나 학연화대 처용무합설에 이르러서는 갈등구조가 숨어버리거나 소멸된 것으로 보인다. 그러나 추측컨대 구나무로서의 처용무에는 갈등구조의 굿이 주류를 이루었을 것으로 보인다. 처용굿, 처용극, 처용무, 학연화대 처용무합설에 관통하고 있거나 내재되어 있는 미의식은 미적유형으로서의 비극미, 숭고미, 한국적 자연미 등이다. 특히 처용굿, 처용극에서는 비극적 갈등구조를 극복하는 통일, 해방, 생성으로서의 한국적 신명이 돋보이고 이는 조화와 한국적 다양의 통일성이라는 미적형식으로 구체화되어 나타난다. '처용무를 현대적으로 재조명 '하는 작업과 그리고 활발하게 이루어지고 있는 종합예술 형태에 근접해 가는 '춤과 시와 미술과의 만남'등의 창작작업에서 간과해서는 안될 중요한 문제는 바로 이점에서 해결의 실마리를 찾아야 한다는 것이다. 따라서 이러한 전통예술의 미적 연구는 계속해서 창작춤을 지향하는 무용예술인들에 의해 더욱 깊이 있게 연구되어야 하며 이러한 연구의 성과는 또다시 오늘의 삶속에서도 확인되고 이를 토대로 창작활동을 할 때만이 동·서양을 막론한 어느곳에서도 진정한 '우리의 것'이 도래할 것이라 생각한다.;This treatise is an attempt to approach to find out what is the Korean sort of a thing in which there contained our Korean race's emotion by finding out the import of beauty contained in the traditional dance and the senses on the beauty which could create that import of beauty. The tale of Chuyong (The name of an historical man of Sinra, one of the old name of country of Korea) was generated by the reflection of life through the phenomenon of the nature and fighting against the nature as a result of our nation's spirit dwelling in us. Therefore, in Chapter Ⅱ, the details of han-ding down of Chuyongmu following its origin and historical transition was investigated centering around the documents on it, in Chapter Ⅲ, through the approach to Chuyongmu by the study for understanding of dances, and in Chapter Ⅳ, the senses on beauty was examined separately at the side of the kinds of beauty, at the side of the view of the world about the beauty and at the side of forms of beauty. That is to say, Chuyongmu has Changed to be a form of the comprehensive dance drama of the consolidation of Hak-Yon-Wha-Dae-Chuyongmu, added by Gunamu and O-bang chuyong that is a kind of play, Hakmuga as the result of developing into 'Chuyong Drama', one of representation in a form of Sandae-Messy-Drama which was orignated from an incantational activity called 'Chuyonggud'(A kind of shaman ritual) The Chuyongmu that contains such characteristics of the study of dance composes the range and azimuth of dancing based on the thought of 'Yin-Yang-Five Elements' and takes the form of beauty of harmonization and unification come from the principle of 'incompatibility and matching'. And as the essence of the drama, it has the structure of conflict because it has the import of beauty that is willing to recover a new order and security by overcoming the dangers. You can get the Korean senses of beauty from the feeling of liberation, rapture, immersion and purity, and of shining deity created in the process of pleasing gods by songs and dances; and this comes out from the grudge and sarcasm willing to get a 'tonic' of life by feeling of mental liberation and creating excitement. Such sense of beauty as sought in Chuyogmu has a value of dancing art through the system of aesthetics. Therefore, this is an essential problem of the Korearn senses of beauty that appeared through the system of aesthetics in modarn creative dances, too. And this problem must not be overlooked.
