고등학교 불어교육에서의 교수매체 활용에 관한 조사연구

Abstract

The goal of learning French is to communicate with one another in French. The goal, however, has hardly been reached in Korea. Most of Korean Students have difficulties in making themselves understood in French. One of the major reasons is that they have been taught French focused on sentence structure and grammartical usage. Therefore, with an emphasis on developing communicative abilities, the communicative approach is required. To improve communicative competence, various teaching methods should be developed. Using instructional media will be an effecitve and efficient method. The purpose of this study is to examine the utilization of instructional media for teaching French in high schools through the inquiring investigation and to bring about the qualitative improvement for effective teaching. The examination was carried out with 117 responded qustionnaires among 207 ones delivered to 207 French teachers at high schools in Seoul. The analysis of the result is as follows: 1. Even though French teachers agree on the necessity of instructional media and many of them actually utilize the media, they responded negatively on the frequency of usage. 2. French teachers' usage concentrates on recording tape, an acoustic media. 3. The reasons of low frequency of usage are shortage of appropreate instructional media, insufficient educational environment, entrance exam oriented educational culture, lack of time and professional knowledge. 4. In order to use the instructional media, it is required to obtain media which meets the need of the students. 5. lnstuctional media is utilized in ordinary classroom environment, and French teachers manage the instruments by themselves. 6. Many of the French teachers feel the necessity of re-educational program on the usage of instructional media but only a few of them actually recevied one. On the basis of the findings above, this paper suggests some ideas as follows: 1. Actual usage of various kinds of instructional media is required in order to improve the ability to communicate in French effectively. 2. Improving communicative ability not only prerequisites easily accessible qualified instructional media but also requires reform of educational culture and more French class. 3. Chances of re-educational program on intructional media for French teacher should be more available.;국제화시대로 특징지워지고 있는 현대사회를 살아가고있는 사람들에게 외국어를 통한 의사소통능력은 보다 적극적인 삶을 위한 필수도구로써 인식되고 있다. 따라서 의사소통능력 함양을 위한 외국어 교육이 그 어느 때 보다도 강조되어지고 있으며 이를 위한 보다 효과적인 방법의 하나로 적절한 교수매체의 활용이 요구되어진다. 즉 언어활동은 상황과 표현이 관련지어지는 과정이므로 다양한 시청각 매체를 사용하면 언어표현의 상황제시와 본국인 음성의 무제한 경험 그리고 문화적 배경의 이해 촉진으로 보다 자연스런 환경에서 외국어를 학습함으로써 의사소통능력신장의 효과를 거둘 수 있으며, 적절한 교수매체의 활용은 학습자의 동기와 흥미를 유발하고 이해를 보다 용이하게 해주기 때문이다. 이에 본 연구는 국내외 관련 문헌을 통하여 주요 외국어 교수법과 선행연구에 대해 고찰함으로써 의사소통능력 함양에 적절한 교수법을 알아보고, 우리나라에서 불어교육을 담당하고 있는 교사들을 대상으로 불어교육 현장에서의 교수매체 활용실태와 문제점을 파악하고 이를 토대로 하여 불어교육에서의 교수매체 활용을 보다 활성화할 수 있는 방안을 모색해 봄으로써, 불어교육의 질적 향상에 이바지함을 그 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 고등학교 불어교육에서의 교수매체 활용실태를 알아보기 위해 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문지는 서울시내 전체 불어교사 207명을 대상으로 배부되었고 이중 117명으로 부터 설문지가 회수되었다. 조사연구 결과 밝혀진 내용은 다음과 같다. 1. 불어교육에서의 교수매체활용의 필요성을 인식하고 있는 교사가 많았으며 실제 수업시에도 매체가 활용은 되고 있었으나 그 활용정도는 만족할 만한 것이 못되었다. 2. 교수매체의 활용이 만족할 만한 수준이 되지 못한 이유로는 교수매체의 부족, 매체를 효과적으로 사용할 수 있는 적절한 환경의 부족, 입시위주의 교육풍토, 매체를 사용할 시간적 여유의 부족, 매체 활용을 위한 전문지식의 부족 순으로 지적되었다. 3. 불어교사들이 주로 사용하는 매체는 청각자료인 녹음테입으로 편중되어 있었다. 4. 교수매체는 주로 일반교실에서 사용되며, 활용 및 조작 역시 담당교사가 직접하는 것으로 나타났다. 5. 교수매체 활용에 관한 연수의 필요성을 느끼는 교사는 많았으나 실제로 연수를 받은 경험이 있는 교사는 매우 적었다. 이와 같은 조사결과를 토대로 다음과 같은 제언을 하고자 한다. 1. 효과적인 불어를 통한 의사소통능력의 함양을 위해서는 보다 다양한 교수매체의 활용이 필요하다. 2. 불어교육에서의 교수매체활용을 활성화하기 위해서는 질 좋은 교수매체의 개발 및 보급과 이를 이용할 수 있는 적절한 시설의 마련이 필요하며 이와 함께 입시위주의 교육풍토 쇄신이 요구되어진다. 3. 불어교사를 위한 교수매체 활용에 관한 연수가 보다 활성화 되어야 한다.
