Abstract
본 연구는 초등교사의 교직 전문성 인식도와 역할수행 실태를 파악하고, 교직전문성 인식과 역할수행 관계에 관한 조사분석을 통해 초등교직의 전문성 提高에 필요한 방향을 찾는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 구체적인 내용은 다음과 같다. 1. 초등교사의 교직 전문성인식에 대하여 개인특성(남녀별, 연령별, 직위별, 경력별, 교육수준별)에 따른 차이는 어떠한가? 2. 초등교사의 역할수행에 대하여 개인특성에 따른 차이는 어떠한가? 3. 초등교사의 교직 전문성 인식에 따른 역할수행의 차이는 어떠한가? 3-a. 전문성 인식이 높은 집단과 낮은 집단에 따른 개인특성별 역할수행의 차이는 어떠한가? 3-b. 전문성 인식이 높은 집단과 낮은 집단에 따른 개인특성별 역할수행의 차이는 어떠한가? 위 연구문제를 조사하기 위하여 서울시내에 소재한 12개 국민학교에 재직하고 있는 남녀교사 360명을 대상으로 본 연구자가 선행연구를 참조하여 제작한 "교직전문성 인식과 역할수행에 관한 설문지"를 사용하여 312부의 유효자료를 표집하여 개인특성에 따른 교직 전문성 인식도와 역할수행실태에 대한 차이관계를 검증하기 위하여 평균차이검증(t-or F-Test)을 하였고, 교직 전문성 인식에 따른 역할수행의 차이관계를 밝히기 위하여 t검증을 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 전체적으로 볼때 남·녀교사 모두가 교직에 대한 전문성 인식이 비교적 높게 나타났으나 사회·경제적 지위에 관한 의견이 있어서는 여교사가 남교사보다 교직이 사회적으로 존경받고 현재보수가 충분하다는 생각을 가지고 있다. 2. 연령별 교직 전문성 인식도를 보면 4개영역에서 20, 30대 연령집단이 전문성 인식이 높은 것으로 나타났는데 이는 연령이 높은 40, 50대보다 연령이 낮을수록 교직 전문성 인식도가 높다는 것을 제시해 준다. 3. 직위별로는 일반교사들이 주임교사들보다 교직에 관련된 전문직 단계의 필요성 및 교직단체 활동참여를 긍정적으로 받아들이는 것으로 보인다. 4. 교직경력에서는 3개영역에서 5-15년인 교사들이 의미있는 차이를 보이고 있는데, 교직경력이 5-15년인 교사들의 연령이 20-30대로 볼 수 있는 점으로 교직경력이 짧은 교사는 교직을 보다 새로운 과업으로 인식한 가운데 전문직으로서의 교직을 강하게 인식한다고 여겨진다. 5. 교육수준별 교직전문성 인식도에서는 전문적 지식과 기술 영역에서는 대학원 재학이상의 교사집단이, 자율성 영역에서는 대졸 출신 교사집단이 교직 전문성 인식도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 6. 남·녀별 역할수행정도는 남교사의 평균 역할수행 정도가 다소 높게 나타났다. 7. 연령별 역할수행애서는 연령이 높은 40, 50대일수륵 역할수행정도가 높게 나타났다. 8. 직위별로는 학생지도, 업무수행, 관리행정, 전문성신장 영역에서 주임교사의 역할수행정도가 높게 나타나고 있다. 9. 경력별로는 4개 영역에서 교직 경력 21-25년의 교사들의 역할수행정도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 10. 교육수준별 역할수행정도에서는 업무수행,관리행정,전문성신장 영역에서 대학원재학이상, 인간관계에서는 대졸 출신 교사집단이 역할수행정도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 11. 교직 전문성 인식이 높은 집단과 낮은 집단에 따른 역할수행의 차이를 보면 전문성 인식도가 높은 교사집단이 전문성 인식도가 낮은 교사집단보다 전영역에 걸쳐 유의미한 차이로 역할수행 정도가 높게 나타났다.;This study is to examine elementary school teacher' level of professionalism on their professions and their actual conditions of role practice, and ultimately to seek the necessary directions for elevating the speciality of elementary education based on this examination. The specific issues of this study are as follows: 1. Does the level of an elementary school education's professionalism on his profession differ by his personal characteristics(i.e., his sex, age, position, career and alma mater)? 2. Is there some difference in teachers' actual conditions of role practice according to their personal characteristics? 3. Does a teacher's actual condition of role practice differ by his professionalism? To investigate these issues more specifically, man and woman teachers in elementary schools is Seoul. have been randomly sampled as a subject of this research, and 312 available data have been collected from them. And based upon these data, t- or F - Test has been used to find the differences relevant to the teacher's professionalism and the actual conditions of role practice related with the level of teachers' professionalism through t - test. And the results of this investigation are as follows: 1. In general, teachers show relatively high level of professionalism, irrelevant to sex, but in the view point of social and economical status, female teachers show somewhat high level of satisfaction than that of male teachers, thinking that teaching job is being respected by society and the pay is satisfactory. 2. As for teacher's professionalism differed by age, age roup of twenties and thirties shows high level of recognition in four areas of education, which suggests that younger a teacher is, higher the level of professionalism. 3. As for the difference of professionalism by position, common teachers rather than head teachers seem to take in more positively the necessity of professional relevant group of education and involvement in educational group activities. 4. As for the educational career, teachers of 5~15 years teaching experience show significant differences in three areas. This group of teachers generally belongs to the age group of twenties and thirties, among them teachers who have relatively short career tend to recognize their job as a vocational task, therefore their view of education as a vocation is much stronger than that of aged group. 5. As for the levels of professionalism differed by teachers' alma mater, the teacher group who graduated from graduate school shows high level of role practice in the areas like professional knowledge and technique, while the teacher group who took university education shows high level of role practice in self-restraint ares. 6. As for the level of role practice differed by sex, those of male teachers are somewhat higher than those of female teachers. 7. As for the level of role practice differed by age, those of aged group, from forties to fifties, are higher than those of younger group. 8. As for the level of role practice differed by position, those of head teachers are higher in the area of student guidance, task realization, administrative management and elevation of speciality. 9. As for the level of role practice differed by career, teachers who have 21~25 years of teaching experience show high level of role practice. 10. As for the level of professional role practice differed by teachers' alma mater, teachers who graduated from graduate school show high level of practice in such areas as task realization, administrative management and elevation of speciality, while those who took university education show high level of practice in interpersonal relationship. 11. As for the level differences of professional role practice according toe the level of professionalism on teaching job, the teacher group who has shown high level of professionalism show higher level of practice than those who has shown rather low level of professionalism in overall areas.
