'오딜'을 재해석한 무용작품 <나에게 스며들다>의 창작과정에 관한 연구

Abstract

이 연구는 원작「백조의 호수」중 ‘오딜’의 캐릭터를 새롭게 해석해서 창작한 본 연구자의 무용작품 <나에게 스며들다>의 창작과정에 관한 연구이다. 이는 무용인이 자신의 무용작품의 창작과정을 면밀하게 분석하는 것을 통해서 창작과 연구사이의 논리적인 연결체계를 모색하기 위한 것이다. 이에 따라 본 연구자는 작품의 구상단계부터 안무, 연습, 공연까지의 전 과정을 분석하고, 이것을 텍스트 화하여 본 논문으로 정리하였다. 본 연구에서는 원작 마리우스 프티파 (Marius Petipa) 안무의「백조의 호수」대한 이해와 현대 안무가들에 의해 새롭게 안무된「백조의 호수」에서의 오딜의 캐릭터 변모과정을 살펴보기 위해 이에 관한 연구논문과 관련서적을 읽고 문헌연구를 하였다. 그 다음 이에 대한 자료들과 영상을 토대로 오딜의 캐릭터를 분석하고 해석하였다. 본 연구자의 무용작품「나에게 스며들다」의 안무과정에 있어서는 몸학(somatics)에서의 몸적 학습(somatic learning)을 활용하여 동작을 창작하였다. 이 창작과정을 분석하기 위해서는 ‘실기를 기반으로 둔 연구(PBR: Practice Based Research)’를 채택하였다. 그 결과, 본 연구자는 연구와 실기를 통섭적으로 살펴 볼 수 있었고, 무용작품 뿐만이 아니라 이에 대한 연구논문까지 동시에 얻을 수 있었다. 이론적인 측면에서는 고전작품의 한 캐릭터의 과거에서 현재까지의 변천사를 조명해보면서 전통작품에 대한 폭넓은 이해를 할 수 있게 되었다. 실기적인 측면으로는 창작과정에서 몸적 학습방법에 따른 주체적인 체험을 통해 본 연구자만의 새로운 움직임 창작방식을 모색해 볼 수 있었다. 결과적으로 이 연구를 통해 본 연구자는 작품의 창작과정을 객관적으로 분석함으로써 개인적이고 일회성이 강한 무용작품을 공적이고 지속적인 텍스트로 역사에 남길 수 있게 되었다. 따라서 본 연구가 무용연구에서의 실기와 연구를 통섭적으로 체계를 이뤄나가는데 한 사례로 활용되길 바라며, 실제의 창작현장에서 실기와 이론의 관계가 서로 상승효과를 주는 순환적 구조 속에서 이루어지길 기대하는 바이다.;This research concerns the creation process of the dance piece, <Permeating into Myself> which was created after highlighting the character ‘Odile’ of the original work, 「Swan Lake」 under a different light. The effort was made for a dance professional to analyze one’s creation process in detail in order to comprehend creation and theory in an integrated and balanced manner. Accordingly, the researcher analyzed the entire process ranging from choreography, practice to performance starting from the piece planning stage and organized the findings to this research. This research examined existing research papers and related books to try to understand the original work, 「Swan Lake」 choreographed by Marius Petipa and to study the way that the character, Odile changes in the 「Swan Lake」 that was choreographed anew by the contemporary choreographers. Then, the related data and images were utilized to analyze and interpret Odile's character. Movements were created by leveraging the somatic learning in the somatics when it comes to the choreography process of the researcher's dance piece, 「Permeating into Myself」. To analyze the creation process, Practice Based Research (PBR) method was adopted. As a result, the researcher was able to examine research and the practical training in a consilient manner, and was able to produce research thesis in addition to a dance piece. While highlighting the transformation process of a character in a classic from the past to the present at a theoretical level, it was possible to gain greater understanding of the traditional work. As for the practical training aspect, it was possible to pursue after the method of creating researcher-specific movement by leveraging self-initiated experience following the somatic learning method. In conclusion, the researcher's creation process was analyzed objectively through this research, enabling to leave behind personal dance piece of the one time use nature in the history as an official and continual text. Accordingly, this research will hopefully realize the relations between the dance professionals’ practical and theoretical within the cyclical structure.
